I'm assuming I'll need as close to unprocessed wood chips as I can find, right (i.e., not wood chips meant for BBQ'ing (e.g., apple/sugar-dipped) or cut and sanded discs)?

Correct. Start wood widling lol Visit lumber yards that cut or plain wood/lumber. Tree cutting places as well. Most will give them away for free. If you outsource like that. You will have to sanitize

So far, no luck. Called a lumberyard and a saw mill ... posting a request online:

"If my friends chip wood, how much wood would they chip for me, if the wood chipper could charge change for chips?
I'd buy your chips, you don't bring anything anywhere."
 
so as a generalization (and i don't know the answer), can sativas or indicas handle more intense light?

i would think an indica with high altitude genes would do better than an equatorial sativa.

anybody?

Only reason I did not go with companies like this. I like less issues. And if they ground up stumps or trees that are infected with bad bugs and not dealt with through sterilization.
