Setting plants in direct shade for few days cause to early flower?

Started seeds on May 5th they were on a 17 hour indoor light schedule. Set them outdoors pretty late due to having to setup property etc around June 24th. We set them under a tarp to shade them for few days so they could adjust to the intense winds up at property. The ones at the property and the ones at the house are flowering already for some reason. We have been setting them all in direct shade for few days to adjust to heat. Is this causing them to trigger? Very upsetting id like to figure out whats causing this issue as its the second time its happened.

I can't really tell much by the pictures. It may be caused by the big change in light cycle. Going from 17 hours down to 14 would be enough to make most strains early flower. You want to gradually cut the hours until they match the natural light cycle.

I don't think shade will make them early flower unless it's a real blackout condition. If it's light out, the plant can "see" the light. And you don't really need to harden them off to the heat, it's the sunlight that will burn them up if you go straight from grow lights to outdoors.

So you suggest that we just start cutting back time earlier what is a safe rate? Also do you suggest just going outside like you did yourself so that they are already adjusted to light and uvs? Going to try to cross the cheesequakes they are regulars and try to flower the rest indoors get some kind of flower. Really unfortunate happened

I don't use lights, so I'm no expert. But I may have heard an hour a week is a safe rate of reduction.

I grow outdoors from the start out of necessity. It has some advantages, like not having to harden off your plants to light. But there are far more disadvantages. Ants, grasshoppers, rabbits, deer, cats, etc, etc. If I were able to veg my plants to about a foot tall before going outdoors, my losses would be halved at least. And the plants would be bigger, thus more weight.

That Cheesequake should make some good crosses.

give them 12 hours of darkness daily until finished for best results, or leave them be and pray your area has enough season left for your varieties to finish properly. you'll be fine letting them be I think, even in the sun maybe

Yea they seem hardy to the heat which is odd it grows indica like. Probably just going to cross a male onto a female to keep that strain.

I don't think shade should trigger them. Definitely what Larry stated is true, drastic light cycle change will trigger them. All of my shit is throwing pistils by the way.
Most plants I've grown in the past start showing signs of flowering around 2nd, 3rd week in July. Your not early by much.

So just let them continue their course? If i see reveg then toss? i have massive holes i wnant to set them in but i have opportunity to acquire 3 ft clones tmrw

Don't be so quick to toss anything. Set them in your holes, and get the clones too. They will do what they do.

Im doing a fairly large scale grow to waste time on a plant that may or may not succeed doesnt appeal to me plus i need to stay under federal limits. I agree though not good jus tigveup instantly i almost did that to a runt and it exploded. Jist shame i wish i had a more concrete answer to why they flipped everything was going so well lol
