Setting up pc fans in a small veg box

So I want to get some pc fans for my little veg box but everything I look at has a 3 pin plug, is it just a matter of splicing the wires together with something else, like maybe a usb cable and then plugging it in? I put some photos up so you guys know what im dealing with but it shouldnt really matter, all I need is to have some airflow seeing as my box is tiny like maybe 1m^3. But yeah I just wanted some input before I went ahead and bought the fans.

USB is 5vdc and most PC muffin fans are 12vdc. I would get a class 2 110ac to 12vdc converter/power supply (make sure it's rated for enough amps for the fans you plan to use), cut the 3 wire plug off the fan and connect the red wire from the fan to the + output of the power supply and the black wire from the fan to the negative output from power supply. I usually just cut the yellow wire off pretty close to the fan housing so it's not in the way.

Thanks for the reply man looks like im ordering the fans then! Also anyone got good ideas for light proofing them ? can run ducting cos theyll be square (also dont want to for efficiency's sake) so I was thinking about the putting some kinda flap on it or something. Anyone got any ideas?

I'm a noob as far as growing is concerned but after doing some research on it, I decided to put DIY carbon filters on my exhaust fans. It stops all light from escaping my box and it eliminates any odors that might cause problems if you need to be stealthy. You should check out some of the methods used in the https://www.rollitup.org/f/stealth-micro-cab-growing.125/ section.
Yeah no I just made a box to veg my little seedlings in because it was a pain trying to get them the right distance under the light so no carbon filter needed, I got a carbon filter on my flowering cab though :bigjoint:. I'd rather just have a flap or something that opens when the air is leaving the box

If you're fan isn't too large, you could attach a black PVC 90° elbow on the outside of the box with the fan on the inside. I used that for my intake to stop light and it has the added benefit of no air flow resistance that you would get with a flap.

Just for future reference if anyone wants to know I found a 12v converter for an old digital clock I had a while back and that worked fine, I also made a little hood (out of cardboard and black duct tape) and stuck that up to block out the light for when its off, my fan was 120mm so it was a bitch sourcing a pvc elbow large enough to cover it but making the hood only took me about 2 minutes but the idea was the same I guess so thanks @JMichael for that
