Settings for AeroGarden Deluxe

My AeroGarden isn't here yet, but I need to know what settings I am supposed to be setting it to when it does get here? I have read that it should use the same settings as tomato, but I also read that tomato gives it too much water. Can somebody who has one of these and has grown with it before tell me what would be best?

If somebody could make a settings FAQ or something I'll just edit my post and make this a FAQ thread for future AG'ers.

Bump. It's here and I'm running it under the 24 hour light setting (The picture of the sun on the right side). I don't know what that's doing for my pump though, so I think I'm going to change it to the tomato setting tomorrow.

Use the search function, there are TONS of threads on the aerogarden, you just gotta take the time to look.

I've read 99% of them, but lots of the postings are contradictory. I need some factual answers here. Can anybody give me some info speaking from personal experience?

I had really good results with the Basil and Herb setting I didn't know you could change the Pump Root Structure is amazing with the tablets I swear By them for the first six weeks

yeah keep it on the tomato setting because i set it on the 24 hour grow setting too and the pump runs 24/7 and it is no good because the medium is just way too soaked for it to grow properly

i got mine on salad greenz 24/7 watering

I have my setup running on Herbs and Basil with 2 plants and they're coming along nicely. I added nutrients today (half a tab of the smaller ones) because the bigger one's stem is turning purple (nutrient deficiency). I don't know if the smaller one is big enough to handle it though..We'll see.

P.S. I'm also running an airstone and 5 extra 20w CFLs.

We have ours on the herb/basil setting. Our plants seriously look like they are on steroids!!!

I've been using herbs/basil as well. Works okay so far.

Hello dude , Ive got mine aerogarden deluxe last week and i started grow 5 white widow seeds, I run herb / basil setting and its on germination ( 1 week ) today.
Its looking pretty good. I used Peters professional Nuts Hi nitro for Veg and i will use Peters Professional Blossom Bloom for Flora .

But I herad Tomatos setting is the best , its true ?! thx . _\|/_

I have been using my AeroGarden for a year now and with great results. I got pretty messed up while in the Army so all I do now is this. When I got back home, I had no way of getting any clones. Now I did have some old Skunk and Chronic seeds that were at least 15 years old. I cleaned out the seeds from the packets that it came with and replaced it with my old seeds. 1 seed per pod. 3 out of 7 grew but a dick head buddy of mine killed two of them.
After 4 inches, I transfered it into a 5 gallon pot. I made a closet grow room with a 400 watt HPS and went to town.

I HIGHLY recommend that you transplant into soil if you wanna get a much larger production.

I now use my AeroGarden for seeds that I purchase and to clone my plants. I hand cut rockwool to fit into the pods and place my clones into those. I have also found that the original foam pads are far superior than rock wool when growing seeds.

I have used both tomato and herb settings but I now prefer herb setting to prevent over saturation of my clones.

If you dont transplant, your end product will be less than an ounce as opposed to way more than an ounce.

did you germinate from seed directly in the ag?
did you use nutes while germinating or after week 2 of germination?

- 1 250w hps
- 1 timer
- 1 ps2 cord
- Trio Fox Farm Nutes ( Big Grown for hydroponic, Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom )
- seeding 24 /0 veg 18/6 Flora 12/12 ( tomato setup all the time )
- 2 white widow seeds
- Ph test
- Ph up / down
- i´ll seeding without aero and then i´ll tranfer for the aerogarden .

hey man,
1 )germinate without aerogarden and then you transfer to aero.
2 ) start feed your plant 2 week after you transfer to aero. ( Don´t use nute in germination )

keep your Ph between 5.8 - 6.0
