Its a cap ebb & grow system, setup as a (sog) strain is unknown but looks uber :)

Basic function of the ebb is it floods through a control box from the res, to the 2gal buckets
then drains back to the res throught the control box, system works very well

Yes mate very pricey, here`s two links (http://www.3ch.co.uk/iws-pro-systems-and-accessories/info_62.html )(http://www.southcoasthydroponics.co.uk/product.php?pid=710&catid=100&product=IWS-Flood-and-Drain-Accessories&parent=) to sites that you can buy all the kit separately u could buy the pots and drill the holes ya self. The first one is for pro system , scecond is the basic system. The difference between pro and basic is 700 ltr res tank and 350 ltr tank. More water in the tank means more pressure pushing through the tube, pots fill up twice as fast. I am new to this sort of set up but if you had the time you could quite easily build your own for a fraction of the price. I want to build a set up with like 120 pots with just one 700 ltr res if poss, cant find any info gunner ring these guys (iwssystems.co.uk) in the morning to get educated. Whats your thinking then ?

The res sizes have no difference in pressure or flood and drain times that is all controlled by a pump for filling and a pump for draining, they are charging more for the larger res because it can initially flood more sites a cap ebb and grow comes with a 55 gal res which can flood up to 48 2 gal grow sites (each site is filled with 2 gal of hydroton in the upper bucket so only takes around 1 gal to fill) the cool thing about this system is if chosen to run SOG you can double pot plants no problem and cut your sites in half so if you want 48 plants run 24 sites double potted and there you go.

thanks mate, thinking of making my own as systems for a 48 pot set up are around £1000
You can buy just the controller bucket and make the rest yourself. It is really easy to do and cheap.

Alternatively, you can make your own controller from a kit like this one: http://www.aquahub.com/store/product39.html

The beauty of the kit is you can adapt it to any size bucket system you wish to make. It comes with instructions for building it to your needs.

Hope that helps.
