Seven Dust?

Any thoughts on Seven Dust during veg to protect from the little critters? Its pretty much a staple in gardening but has some carcinogenic properties. The typical time before last dose and edible consumption is around 2 weeks.
Just curious why I never see it mentioned on these boards. If used properly it should be safe. What am I missing?

I've been using the liquid kind. I used to put a ring of the powder kind around the plant to stop slugs and that worked good.

Is there a point in time you would stop using it? I think seven dust and sticky buds sounds like a bad combo.

The residual on sevin (carbaryl) is fairly short and reapplication is usually needed for good insect control. The short residual and relative low-toxicity are the reasons for it's widespread use on vegetable plants. While it does provide a quick knockdown of pests it can also unfortunetly kill predator insects that keep chewing, sucking insects in check. Rotation to another insecticide such as imidacloprid would be helpful as it also helps prevent buildup of resistant pests.
