sex question

When trying to find out the sex of your plant I have a few questions because the newb guide is honestly, kinda weak. One guide said that you cant tell the sex until you start 12/12 cycle, then I seen in one forum where you should always know the sex before you 12/12, WTF? Other thing, if you are supose to wait till you know the sex to do the 12/12 cycle then how long till you can tell the sex of your plant? I have about 6 nodes on my plant only like 7-8 inchs high its about a month and half old, cant really see any signs of sex yet.

Can you grow amazing weed on bagseed? I only have a few hyrdo seeds have yet to germinate.

Last but not least, I have a plant that died (went out of town a few weeks, no water + weed plant = dead weed plant) and it has a ton of leaves can I like eat these are get some kinda use out of them?

A popular way of sexing plants during veg is to take a cutting, and flower it.

Bagseed is always pot-luck, I've grown a few that turned out awesome though :)

I wouldnt recommend just eating raw leaves, I made green cake :)

Here are my 4 ladies! they are starting their 7th week of flowering. They are baggie seeds I started with 20 seeds and ended up w/ 4 ladies. yeah the odds suck but they're looking and smelling real happy! They have been under 6, 40w COOL BLUE tubed flourescents. (due to lack of money; these are the worst lights for flowering btw,) since germination. I started them in Dec, w/ 2 months of vegging and I hope only about 2 weeks left, by the looks of them. I have about 10-30% browning in the colas depending on the plant. so yeah, it's possible to get decent weed from baggie seeds, but the male/female odds suck. Best bet is to clone your definite ladies when you get the chance, to ensure a fem grow next time.

What the guides are saying is sometimes they will pre-flower if you let them veg long enough so you may know the sex before 12/12. You will definitely see sex a few weeks into 12/12 (provided there is no light damage).

you can grow great weed with bag seed. or at least as good as the smoke it came from. one quick note - hydro is a way to grow (using just water) - it is not a strain. so you can germinate seeds in a hydro unit - but there is no such thing as hydro seeds. not sure if it was just a slip but thought you'd like to know.

unless the leaves are covered in trichomes, they are useless - though i suppose you could make tea or compost or something.

Thats the anwser I was looking for!, I understand the preflower now, just for some reason didnt get it in the newb guide (maybe you should write one) anyway, I will end up doing the cut a branch off to sex. How many days do you grow before doing that?
