sexing with clones

Has anyone used clones to sex their plants , before putting your plants in12/12
Also do you put the clones in 12/12 right away or do you wait a week till you see the clone is healthythen put it in 12/12
I could really used the info.. Thanks

wait until the clones have a root system then u can just put 1 into 12/12 right away to see if its a she or he.

I never understood the logic of this and still don't. I know I read about it, must be a reason. Seems like a waste to me. Take the clones just before you seedlings are ready to go into flowering. Take at least two from each plants and mark them so you know which plant they came from. Put the seedlings into the 12/12 light cycle. If it turns out to be male get rid of it and the two clones you took. If it turns out to be female you already have two clones from her that are about 2 weeks from going into flowering. VV
