Sheep poo

I picked up a bag of composted Sheep Manure for tea, has anyone added Sheep poo to their soil mix, or is it too harsh?

It must be aged first...then check amount's of nitrogen to judge how much to use....It is known to burn plant's if not aged a couple of year's and then lightly add!! Great ammendment to "dig in" soil for next year's crop outside with worm casing's!! good luck I hope this helped!...jack

it'll make a fine manure tea. its already composted.

Its already composted, I picked it up a beg at the Homedepo.

I currently use sheep manure in my teas with great results, at a ratio of one cup per gallon of water.

1 cup per gallon,,rogere that man.

If Salts kills bacteria why do we add Epsons Salts to soil if its going to kill the Micros we add with the tea? Sorry for all the questions

i don't add MgSO4 to my teas. i add it separately to my water.

What I was getting at was...if I add salts to my soil mix won't it kill the micors in the tea when I water?

nah. the microbes need salts too. just not concentrated salts.

I just go some that I'm composting. This is direct from the sheep pen. Jorge Cervantes, book has a big section on all kinds of organic amendments and there it lists it has having really low N-P-K, kinda like worm castings. The book also says that, because the poop is more naturally aerated when it comes out of the sheep's butt, it's good for activating a compost pile. Sounds like it would bubble well.

I just got it, haven't done much growing with it. I threw it in my compost, added some to some super soil that's aging for months, added it to a horse manure pile where it's 50/50 with the horse manure. I topped dressed a little on a three week old plant-I'll give a yell if anything bad happens. From Cervantes's description, it sounds kinda underrated.

Epsom Salts are not technically a salt. The term "salt" stuck because it resembled NaCl (sodium chloride) cake and rock when it was refined. It's solubility in water furthered the misconception that it was a true "salt". Espom Salt is "salt like"..... it is not a true salt. In fact epsom salts can be used to help flush salt build up from soils. You can use 2tblsp/gal of H2O on every watering and never see an ill effect from it. try that with any other true salt and you have a dead plant. That said, I add my epsom to my garden via water in it's own application. I don't put it in with my teas because.... well, I just never have. I use enough in my watering regiment that I don't feel the need to add it into my teas. But please be rest assured that epsom salt will not dick your soil up like regular real salt. I hate to say you can't over use it because some dick will try to use it as a growing medium and complain his plants died..... But is used sensibly, it's hard to overdose epsom salt.
