So I haven't skied a lot in the last few years, but it's like muscle memory gained starting from being a teenager. I only went like half a dozen times last year, and this is my first time this winter. I'm over 60 now, and my body wants to do the same things, and so it did. I think I hurt my body. lol

It's like I can hardly walk, and moving is an effort. Plus I was HAF and of course smoking most times while up on the lift (like everyone else there), so maybe that killed the pain. Damn I feel it now hours later after I got home today. FFS I hate to admit I'm getting old and it's affecting me :(

Going back next weekend for sure, because I need to assure myself that I'm still alive. Lol

I'm scared to go snowboarding because I know I will hurt myself. I was a really good snowboarder until I had back to back seasons that ended with a broken collar bone. I haven't been back since in over a decade and have turned down a few invitations.

My whole body hurts after just waking up in the morning lol. Shoulders, knees and even my damn hip sometimes. All at the ripe old age of 34

I'm finding muscle memory a really weird thing as you grow older. It's absolutely all still there, which is where the problems start. Lol

It's like your mind knows exactly how to instruct your body to do something, but consciously you don't even have to pay attention to it anymore but it doesn't work as well as it used to. That goes for skiing because I haven't put my body though those motions in a long while. What I like most is my bicycle or canoe. Soon I'll be doing that again, I can't wait!

Here is one place I really love to take my bicycle to: https://www.trailforks.com/region/mont-saintemarie-3294/?activitytype=1&z=12.5&lat=45.93951&lon=-75.88614
First time there I thought I was gonna die is was so good. LOL

I'll post a pic of my unusual bike up on the bike thread when I find a pic of one without me in it. Hahaha

Even though i haven’t been in a few yrs, because of other shit that’s happened, mainly the Camp Fire burning all my shit lol, I had gotten to where I would just bomb down the runs. Would and will do some park nothing too crazy. Lol.
But around 10 yrs ago at Kirkwood, snow was shitty. Sloppy as fuck. I dropped in to launch this huge gap. Didn’t get enough speed. Went straight up and straight down. Concussed. Broken binding. Fuckin hurt lol.
Like i said. Now i just like bombing down the mountain. I’m 47. If my back is feeling better next winter i def aint done.

Even bombing a hill seems dangerous to me. I used to ride the park a bit but my big thing was dropping cliffs in the back country. I’ve hucked myself off many drops over 15 ft yet both times I got hurt, it was at the end of a run going slow lol
