MACON, GA. | Authorities say a motorized wheelchair that bumped into a Buick at a central Georgia gas station led to gunfire that claimed a womans life.
Macon police say the woman was shot to death Tuesday afternoon at a Murphy Express station on Gray Highway.
Police said in a statement that a mans motorized wheelchair bumped into 65-year-old Linda Hunnicutts car, who exchanged words with the 73-year-old man in the wheelchair.
Police say Hunnicutt got out of her Buick Lucerne, and the man in the wheelchair drew a gun and shot her in the chest.
Hunnicutt, who is from Jones County, was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia where she died.
The suspect, who is from Macon, was taken into custody. Information on possible charges was not immediately available early Wednesday.

See, I am not understanding this. If the law provides for folks that stand their ground not having to go to court - as in the intitial part of the martin case, where it was only public outrage that had the shooter arrested - then I would agree with you, but this guy was instantly arrested and will have to go to court - so how is this law to blame? Had there not been a stand your ground law, the shooter still would have been arrested and would still have to justify his action in a court. I was under the impression that stand your ground necessitated only that the shooter explain his situation to the police - and then go about his business.

Case one there was an actual weapon involved in both peoples hands and a guy mistakes his son for a criminal
Case two the guy who reported the criminal lied himself and said the suspect had a gun and officers took him down for a motion that could threaten their lives. (If anything the 911 caller should be charged with some type of accessory crime or at the very least falsifying.)
Case three some dude gets the shit beat out of him for pulling a zombie prank.
None of these sensationalist instances prove that it is a justifiable self defense action to murder someone for a mere threat, but thanks for playing.

I moved no goal posts. I asked for a legal case where a threat with the absence of a weapon was enough to justify murder, and you did not provide it. You provided anecdotal news stories without a denouement, particularly the legal decision. I think the problem is that you are playing checkers, while I am playing chess.
