short rider flowering

i am wondering if anyone has grown this paticular strain. it showed its first hairs at bout 3 weeks which was about 2 weeks ago. i am useing flora nova nutes in a dwc with a 400w hps at bout 12in away and four CFLs on the sides(100w eq) and the biddest is bout 30 in. it is flowering decent but nothing crazy. but tons of hairs just not crazy in size. this is my first grow to make it to flowering lol so im wondering if this strain usually takes a few weeks to explode cuz in the last 4 or 5 days it has gotten quite a bit bigger and alot more hairs. just not sure what to expect since my first grow to get to this point. also i am gonna be adding a sweetner to my nutes tomorrow. any help would be great thanks in advance

I grew a short rider plant as my first grow. I finished in 63 days but i could have easy let it go 70 days. I didnt use anything but GH flora series on mine. Was my favorite grow actually. Almost grew herself.

ok cool so how long after u saw first hairs did u see significant size? it not that its small its just that i have bout 4 weeks to go and wanna make sure ima get there and how was your yield and size of plant? if u dont mind me asking?

wow ok cool well like i said i saw first hair about 2 weeks ago and right now the buds are prob bout 3-4 inch tall and bout the width of a quarter. and i have bout 3-4 weeks so does that sound pretty good? i would upload pics but cant get it to work right

sounds like they are doing well, They will grow a lot over the next 4 weeks. My main cola was 17 inches tall, i grew hydro so everything was sped up for me, you may have to go longer if your soil.

yea im doing hydro also. im hopeing for some pretty good results also i have to keep my light like 10-12 inch away or it will strech like crazy

man those look pretty nice lol i had one other question. im doing my res change today and im gonna add in the flora nova nectar sweetner. it says on the back to add 2 tsp per gal should i cut that down to like half or can i do full amount and also i turned off water pump in res because roots are huge and just sittin in the water. is that fine or should i turn the pump back on

so im wondering i havnt seen much change in my flowers they just seem to be going real slow but the plant is getting big. i have it on 20/4 light cycle should i try the 12/12 because with only 4 weeks left it seems they should be bigger. there is just really hairs not really bud

The short riders like all the light you can throw at them. Reducing the light wont help budding. whats your nutrients and how often do you feed?

whole setup is a DWC with 2 12in air stones and 1 6 in im useing GH flora nova series flowering with flora nova sweetner. i have the 400watt hps on em. i dont know how they flower for but since this is my first time making it to flower i dont really kniow what to expect. im only a few weeks in so im prob just being impatient lol

The first grow is the hardest, you have to wait on mother nature to do her thing. I guess thats why i rushed my short rider a touch. It was my first as well.

oh ok lol well my last grow was a disaster it was supposed to be WW but got like 8 ft tall and was out of control and flowers were so wispy and tiny even smaller than mine at only 2 weeks lol so def not sure what to expect

Wowz 8 ft tall! That would have been way to much for me to handle!

Over the next month you should see the main cola form, many alternate bud sites will form as well. If i had it to do over i would grow it for 70 days, harvest the main cola , then drop the light and finish out the lower buds.

oh ok well i appreciate the advice. they are about 35 inches right now lol and the side branches have grown about the same height as the main cola and are just a il bit smaller so i hope they get some nice size to em with four weeks left.

i can take pics but cant find cord to put them on here but will be looking some more today. how close do you keep lights? mine is about 10 inch away to help with stretching is this too close for a 400 watt? i know heat is bad for flowering. i have my fan pointing right at the tops though
