you can grow any strain pretty short....i vegged mine in pure compost so it would stunt it a bit because i'm growing in a tight space...i transplanted it in miracle grow all purpose soil in a bigger pot right before i put it in flower....3 weeks into flower it is only about 10 inches tall but is filling in nicely with buds.....i know where you are coming from..it's like, man it would be cool to have some 4 foot plants...but damn!...where the hell would i keep em?...also i used a fairly small container to veg in so the roots wouldn't get too big...

thanks a lot dinkydigger, this really helps. I live with my mother but she is really careless. I plan on making a type of garden in my room with different types of plants (its pretty big. And i have a really big closet)

and one other thing, is pruning an option for keeping the height down?? ive read that you should only do it if u have dying leaves or something tragic like that

yes lowryder2 is just what i needed. i looked it up grows pretty damn short. thanks. Im also gonna use dinkydiggers technique. I know the yield will probably be minuscule but this is just an experiment till i move into my apartment next year!!

Any strain can be grown short though. Just veg for about 5-10 days, or until you have 3 sets of leaves [not including cotyledons] and then flip to 12/12. That should keep your plant under 2 feet, and still yield about an ounce or so. The only difference between that and using a Lowryder strain is the final yield. A LR strain will yield more because it is designed to be that small, where a normal strain will yield less than its potential.

if i only veg for 5 to 10 days wont that make it a hermie (or something like that). Also how many hours of light before switching to 12/12 if i do that??

grab some sort of PURE indica afghan, ect they are naturally shorter plants then sativas and hybrids veg under lots of compact flouros or m/h since those lights keep the plants short and tight. and flower after 2-3 weeks this will leave you with short plants that grow single cola style

you can also LST low stress training where you tie down the plant.. look it up its on here, but thats a great way to increase yield and keep plants low.. the pic in my avatar was a plant I lsted she was in a 5 gallon pot
