Short time timer options for UV

Hiya everyone,

I was wondering what you guys are using for timers for your UV lights. I want to be able to set something to run for 5 minutes each hour for 4 hours. I've heard some people use the Nearpow timers for their DTW hydro pumps, which seems like a similar application, but I'm not sure which one to get, there are a bunch. Here is one of them: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G6O28NA/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A2PG1NRTR7HFFO&psc=1 I've also seen some people use these BN-Link ones: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0184CG9K0/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_3?smid=AARY1ZSUT9VPR&psc=1. Worst case scenario, I work from home so I could just do it manually for a few days until they're used to the light, then just use one of the usual mechanical light timers with 15 min increments-not sure if 15 min of that strong UV will be too much though. Am I missing any good options? Thanks guys!

Any basic digital timer will work. I think the one i have has 8x on/off modes.
I have been doing 8x 8min on cycles in the middle of my 12hrs on cycle.
What with a 24” SolarCure light

tho I have thought of doing just 4x 15min cycles in the middle.
Still new with the uv so playing around

Thanks for the responses guys, I'll update this thread when I decide on something, just in case anyone else has the same question and wants a solution.

I use TPLink Kasa WIFI adapters for my UV setup. I just setup the timing schedule through the app. It allows me to stack schedules and I can turn them off and on depending on where I'm at in the grow. I stage my outside UVA bulbs to come on first.. inside next... and pulses UVB with the center light... and reverse just before lights out.

A standard digital timer is 13 amps (2.5/3 kw) most if not all the ones I have are 20/25 on/off settings per day.

I bought one off amazon. It has two inlets that can each be set up differently i think its good for upto 1800 watts. You can set it up just about any way you want. Any combination of days out of the week and timing options they run about 18 buck. I believe it’s something like this, im out of state at the moment. Though reading up on that it says it has 18 different on off settings.. not sure if it can be done every 5 minutes.. maybe spaced out a little further.. i really dont know what 18 different on off options means though but its worth a look..
