Short veg time LST? Yes or no?

Actually no...I had bonsai clone Mommas and my cuttings were fairly small. But the whole time I did that was with a single pheno. Very sativa White Widow that stretched like crazy. They ended up being around 15"to 18" at harvest.

Wow!! Awesome.

'Mornin' Fiddy,
If you're not hindered by plant count...you might consider a small plant sog. I did 24 clones on a 3'x3' tray. Flood and drain. Once I put them on the tray in 5" square pots...I just gave them a few days to get settled. Then flipped them...essentially no veg time. Each little plant had just one big cola. Can't quote weight or yields but the quality was there.

What I planned on doing is.. well I have a 10x10x6.5. That’s why I’m kinda limited on height.
I planned on putting 16 plants in each quadrant of the tent (you like that word? Double scrabble point word haha).
Then was hoping to get anywhere from 4+ pounds for that space. Have 4 sections that are are about 4x4.

So with that space, you think it’s possible to get 3oz per plant without using co2?
If you want quality and big yield in the shortest amount of time then sog is the way to go. You wont get 3 ozs a plant doing a real sog especially not in soil. but you dont need to as you have many single top quality colas! For example If you had 32 crammed under a 600w and got half an oz off each then you would yield a pound under a 600w in possibly 10 weeks from taking cutting!! So with sog your not trying to have big branchy plants your main focus is lots of main colas.

Yes absolutely. Quality is what I am wanting. But it doesn’t hurt to get quantity too lol.
Yeah after taking the clones, I’m tempted on doing cut, 2 weeks for root, then maybe 1-2 more weeks for a short veg. Then flip to flower.

Having trouble with the quotes so I'll just omit them. Omit...how many scrabble points is that? I guess you win with quadrant. lol

TreeFiddy...track down the stickied threads by Al B. Fuct. He was an Aussie grower that pulled a pound every three weeks using sog trays. Think they're in hydro section.

@StareCase
Latest seed purchase is Golden Tiger by Ace. 100% sativa Thai x Malawi. I figure if I don't have the skill to do it now...I never will. lol

Sounds like a plan. Only downfall with sog is its alot more work imo. And generally less veg = more plants.

Too bad. I won't refer anyone there anymore. Google him and maybe you can find a thread with pictures. I know he was a member at Ozzie Stoners before he came here. He got a job requiring travel and stopped growing. But by reading the text alone you can get some info. He did things his own way. Cut large clones. Much of his growing was in rockwool. He did a perpetual harvest to get that yield. 4x4 trays but I can't recall his lights.

You can still refer people there. There is some good information in there. I wasn’t meaning like ahh fuck this info. He seems pretty knowledgeable. I appreciate the recommendation

The way he had it set up with harvest every three weeks...quite impressive. I tried perpetual and it really takes an organized mind. Mostly I was stoned which is why I failed. lol

Yeah that happens lol when you grew yours, what size gal pot did you use and from the bottom of the pot to the top of the cola, how tall did it get?

TF,
I am of the school that hydro plants don't need huge roots because the nutrition is brought to them.

My E&F set up used square plastic pots 5x5 filled with hydroton. Including the pot height I doubt it was 2" max. Mind you that grow was a while ago. My res pumped up a couple feet to the tray which I mounted for convenience. With your 6.5' headroom...you could move the tray lower. Light clearance could be an issue. But I really don't think it would be any more problematic then say a scrog.

Maybe you should research a vertical grow. Lots of experts here at RUI. That would solve lots of problems for you.
Cheers,
JD

Awesome - the seed bank that I have had good success with sells Golden Tiger by Ace Seeds.

11 - 15 weeks flower time - there's some true sativa genes for ya. So that puts harvest in the late October / early November time frame. I'll read up on how they do on those much cooler overnights. If they do OK, I'll grab me some and get one going outdoors. If not ... indoors.

Thanks for the referral, JD

Ace has a varity of sats. I just thought the Golden Tiger sounded nice. Looking for a psychedelic or spiritual type sativa high.

I don't know about outdoors...I'm growing it indoors. I'm actually looking forward to the long flower time. With quick turnaround plants...I find myself getting behind the curve. Now I can take a deep breath and relax. lol

Check out the Ace thread. You may find something more suited to your climate.

@TreeFiddy350...just wanted to call attention to the fact that my sog plants were tall due to sativa influence. You could gain a height advantage by growing a shorter indica variety.

Cheers,
JD

Yeah I actually look your advice and looked for other posts from him in other place.
His set up doesn’t look too bad. There were some pictures where the plants leaves didn’t look too good, but it helped me gain a good onsite of how to run this
