Should I add CFL's to my 250w halide

More light is always better! Check my sig for flexible light extensions, if you can find something like that locally it will help a lot in positioning your CFLs. If you are in flowering just remember you want 2700K CFLs, or "warm/soft white", go for the largest wattage ones you can find.

You can pick up the CFL's nearly anywhere, Walmart, lowes whatever... just a simple lamp socket and cord and you can place the lights where you want them and move them around. I'd got for 100 watt equivalent as a minimum. I like the 150w ones but they are more expensive and harder to find. The 100w ones can be had in either spectrum easily just read the fine print on the bulbs package.

Thanks rollinbud. That is the kind of answer I was looking for. Good news talked to my friend who gave me the 250w is giving me a 400w system. So now i have a 250w halide and 400w halide. Wat do u think "Mr. Clean" will have to say about this. You think she will like the increase in power 5 days into flower. More power to the flower.

Well if you want to increase your yield, resin production & potency then YES ABSOLUTELY add some CFL's, when it comes to flowering/budding more light= more bud. If you REALLY want to improve your harvest then consider this, If you have a switchable or HPS ballast I would recommend getting a decent HPS bulb for flowering like a Hortilux Super HPS, however if you only have a MH ballast and can't afford an HPS ballast then you might want to look into an AgroSun Gold bulb, they are spectrally enhanced metal halides that produce more red light which is the spectrum plants like most for flowering, check em out: (---->CLICK HERE<----) If you can't get an HPS ballast or even the AgroSun bulb then I HIGHLY SUGGEST you get as many CFL's as you can afford and put them on Y-splitters, these are some of the best CFL's Ive found (I use them, they are VERY BRIGHT & plants LOVE them) and the price isn't too bad either: (---->CLICK HERE<----) Well good luck to ya and keep her green.

My 400w light is a Phillips HPS-retrowhite ed18, Yes it is a Hortilux Super is what is printed on the bulb. This is so gonna help. Hey just remember. I paid $15 for my start"Mr. Clean" and $50 for my nutes. Haven't got the electric bill yet. So 2months into this I have spent $65, oh yea I had to buy a bulb for my 250w $40. So $105 bucks is all I have spent. The drywall I used to build the room I got free, my fan was free, Thermometer and timer $20 so there is $115. When I start my next grow I will do 2 plants, but lets finish this one first.

you might add, say 4 cfls, one for each bottom corner, getting some more light to the underside,

2700k propably your best bet.

have the lights halfway down the plant or so. just see where they are of most benefit.

though since ya lollipopped, there isnt that much to light up.

But I never said I chopped the plant, just didnt have enough light for those poor little guys underneath. So instead of haveing small weak buds with no light draw all the energy from the bottom of my plant. I slashed those nodes off early. Funny thing is, my buddy brought me the 400w Sun System 1 400hps with no power cord. They quit making this particular system 5 years ago. So after an hour on the web I found it and will have it tomorrow except, I am haveing surgery so it will have to wait till friday. I am tired of waiting. I'm taking a bong hit.

dont know if the lollipopping actually does anything to increase yield, some say it does, others dont.
