you should take clones from the bottom branches, the hormones are different in upper and lower branches, the hormones in the lower branches are better for taking cuttings and will root much easier and faster than taking cuttings from upper branches..

My first clones I plan to take off the top, with my real goal of limiting the height of my plant and making it more bushy. Once my plant is sufficiently mature, I plan on taking clones from lower, healthy branches. If your ultimate goal is to clone (and not to limit how tall or bushy the plant grows) the lower branches, especially those will nice fat fan leaves are preferable, as they are fully developed and would root more easily. But you can can take clones from the top or bottom. Just make sure you don't strip the mom of enough fan leaves to sustain itself. One clone at a time and allow the plant to recover before taking another.

lol, thats what i thought, but everyone else has told me otherwise, i kind of agree with u because the upper parts have too much vegitation, and i was worried about a newly rooting clone not being able to support leafs that big.
ill tell u what ill try topping the pure belladonna (not so dense) and bottom clone the bellabagseed, meanwhile i would like more of peoples input, i am making a very bit deal of cloning as my next grow will be a sea-o-green

thanx everyone

Well,

I just did four of my own "first" clones. (from LA Kush) It was a 12 inch plant. But, there was only one main stem. So, I had to clone from that. I took four clones and left about half (maybe a little more) of the plant. All four clones seem to have rooted (after 6 days in dirt) and are doing well. The mother plant has three or four new shoots coming off of it. A couple days after taking my clones, there was an explosion of growth.
