Should i get more seeds? Or get a mentor to teach me?

I have been trying to grow since January. Been killing seeds left and right.

I have 3 seedlings left. 2 are pretty new. One is somehow still alive and actually starting to flower as it has been outside for a month or 2. I'm watering them every other day or every 2 days and they seem better.

I'm almost ready to give up. Been trying super hard with 0 results. I'm trying to see if I can find a grower local to help me figure this out. I've tried all the advice I have heard. Been to the local hydroponics store and everything else.
Obviously I know thats highly unlikely. You know strangers on the internet and all.

If I can't figure this out. I will likely sell my lights and grow tent on here. If there is a for sale section.

But I really want to get this figured out. Dispensary week kinda sucks. We had a friend who trims that gave us some from a south Oregon grow and it was amazing.

You are probably overwatering.

Give more info? How do you germinate? What are your steps from there... Pics would help as well. Photos or autos?

Try simple seed to soil approach , solo with bagged potting mix for example. Let the mild mix feed upfront with occasional watering ( lightly ) to allow rooting to establish.

or if still not getting it …. Look into the field of shoe cobbler - that lost art is coming back believe me.

I've been running 70/30 coco/organic soil mix.

And I also feel that I have definitely killed most plants by over watering. I had one plant get into early veg. I topped it and it did great. But I had one over watering and an additional topping and then it went downhill fast.

These ones are hanging in there. I'll post pics tonight when I'm home

There are some discords you can use to get some help. One being Irvine seeds:
You can also get free tester seeds here:

I assume it's over watered if you're doing it every other day.

I would definitely recommend the Ready, Set, Grow video High Times made. It's a little older but covers the basics well. Or you can read a book. There are so many on the topic.

Just use bagged coco with perlite. Tupur Royal Gold is great, but just get whatever. Hydro Crunch is kinds nice for beginners because it's a nice medium-brown color, and it really shows when it's drying out; Tupur for example, is pretty dark wet or dry.

GH Flora Trio and CaliMagiC. And some pH up/down. That's all you need. Get a few successful grows with this and coco as your medium, and then you can decide if you've amassed enough knowledge and experience to go organic or whatever else.

Don't get "boosters" or "sweeteners" or anything else. Literally 3 food bottles, one cal-mag bottle and your pH stuff. That's it. Use tap water. Your plants will adjust. Later on, that's another thing you can decide if you wana upgrade or not.

Start seeds in solo cups with baggie domes until they pop. Filled with coco, watered with cal-mag water 5ml/gal.

Let em go upwards of 2 to 3 weeks.

From there, straight into whatever size fabric pots you want. 3 or 5gal should do it.

I start in 100 percent coco and water with a mist bottle every other day after sprout. Around 150ppm
After a week they can usually take their starter cup being watered to runoff every few days...

Canna likes a wet/dry cycle.... I water and wait til I see first sign of droop in leaves then water again. For seedlings, misting til they are about 10 days old then water around rim of solocup. I use a turkey baster to water when they're small

Sometimes it needs 2, even 3 days before you re-mist it. If the cup has any weight to it, wait. Once it's so light you think you waited too long, then water again

Agreed, every other day is usually what I do... I love seedies. It's my favorite part. If I could have a job where I popped seeds and gave them away at 3 weeks I would, haha

My advise is to go out and buy a pack of basil seeds or lettuce seeds and just try growing that. At the early stages of seed germination and growing healthy seedlings, there isn't much difference. That will allow you to practice and not waste money on weed seeds.
