Should I Keep This Watering Schedule?

Soil seems to be extremely dry after one day. I have been watering every other day, but the soil feels awfully dry. I have been watering around the base of each plant with about 250ml of plain water. The seedlings are 8 days old.

The question is continue with the watering schedule or do I need to change it?

  • Container Size: 5 gal
  • Organic Soil
  • Lighting
    • ViparSpectra V600
      • Both veg and bloom lights on.
      • 20/4
  • The distance from the light to the seedlings.
    • 20"
  • Water
    • PH of 5.8 to 6.2
  • Humidity
    • Between 70% and 75%
  • Temperature
    • Steady 72 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Oscillating fan on 24 hours
  • Humidifier on 24 hours

Next time start in small container or Solo Cup first for best results. Also you must adjust your pH to 6.5 in soil for best results, what you quoted above is too low and you're likely to have issues going forward.

As per your question it's imperative you keep the roots moist, but not wet, but don't let them dry out! (that's why the smaller container is better to start plus roots seem to like to be in a smaller place initally) good luck!

In big pots, i water the top alittle, and then the bottom alot. The roots will reach for the bottom.

Mine are in red cups :)
I have started in big pots without issues, but more maintenance. Roots reach for water pretty quick

Put a saucer about an inch deep under the pot and fill it with water. The roots will find it. Just water the top enough to keep it alive

Is there a trick to watering without getting your roots wet? That sounds hard. How do you keep roots moist but not wet in DWC?
