Should I NOT Top My Clones??? And Other Clone/Mother Plant Questions.

so after much failure and little success i have finally got 2 of my clones to root. they are not healthy, but thats another story, there getting better. i see they are growing there branches off set. not side by side like they usually grow from seed. are clones specifically for a SOG style of grow? can i top my clones? can you turn a clone back into a mother? i have a feeling i should do none of the above. but i have to ask. i am having so much better luck with growing straight from seed. but it is very beneficial i learn to make clones. the style of growing i am aiming for may depend on it. thanks in advance for any informative answers.

A clone is just a copy of the mother you took them from. No clones are not "specifically" for SOG grows. You can use a clone for any style of grow. Yes you can top your clones, though if you say they are not healthy I would wait until you think they are healthy enough and are showing new top growth. Yes you can make a clone into a mother, but IMO you need to make sure that it is a healthy cutting and is growing and looking nicely. Do not make a sickly/slow growing plant/clone a mother. And do not get rid of a mother until you are positive you have a good stock of clones to make a new mother out of.

You can do whatever you want with a clone, as you would a plant grown from seed. The main difference, is that the clone is older, the same age as the mother plant it was taken from, and already sexually mature. The only thing I would advise against, is topping a plant that is weak, because it'll take longer to recover, than normal.

What type of cloning technique are you using? If you haven't read or heard of Subcool (has a organic sub-forum on this site and head of TGA seeds) he has sections with pictures about how to clone and it is easy. I highly recommend reading as much of his material as possible.

ok!! i will give +rep when i can, guess i handed to much out, have to wait a day.

the plants are growing fine, just a little under or over fed. still rising up like champions. but yeah, i should wait about another week before topping. i have posted a thread on my cloning technique. the only difference between then and now is i have a heating mat. and they look sad!! to say the least. i do everything i need to do for optimal root growth, but for some reason, they all have died except the 2. looks like 3 of these 9 will root though, we will have to see.

yes! i have heard of Sub-Cool. dude is gnarly! i haven't ad the time to watch any of his videos, but i saw one of him on YouTube talking to Jorge C about his Jack The Ripper strain and his 9 month cure. my buddy has a JTR seed for me. i think its a fem. i have to butter his ass to have him come of it though, supposedly he only as 3. so with the right persistentness i should be able to acquire one.

im also debating getting an Ez-Cloner. i heard that makes cloning a breeze, or so i have heard. ill check out his vids before i do anything drastic. maybe im leaving out a step or something, if you want to see any of my old threads, i have all my steps ion one of the threads i started.
