Should I opt out/Remove smart meter with CMP Maine?

There is already a smart meter on the house we are buying. I would be paying to have them come out and put an electro mechanical unit on. I know it's legal up here but I still prefer it if no one knows what I'm doing. On the other side of the coin. A meter reader would be out once a month. Their shouldn't be any smell but it's still a small concern
I have been running hids up here since the eighties,i have never once seen or heard of someone getting busted because of legal power usage,i c folks getting popped becaue they run gens 24-7

MI does not purchase your overage solars, they roll over until the end of the year and then they absorb/steal your overages.
I cost me 40k (hands off) to replace my estate usage, then another 25k for a full battery shed so I can have power when the sun doesnt shine. Those batteries need replacing right about the time the panels have paid for themselves, then the panels fail one by one. I dunno, Ima waiting till the predetermined obsolescence is eliminated....
