I've always let mine go. Some people have had success topping. I just don't like to slow down the growth

I topped a couple and left a couple alone of the same strain as an experiment. IMO I'd just leave them alone.

Usually 70 to 90 days but sometimes over 100, depends when they start flowering too, my auto #1's started flowering on day 40, so im expecting 90 days harvest, 8 weeks flower =))

Really? if you have one that's going to grow 100 days you are not even going to consider any kind of trimming/topping at all even if very early on? Are there not 12/12 strains that take 100 days from start?

There are long runners. I would still be uncomfortable topping an auto. In fact, I ran several runs of SOG with 90 day plants. These suckers still were about 1.5 zip plants that never got tall. I would have put a hurt on them attempting to top!
Maybe and I mean you just might try it, with something like Iranian auto's. Tall, 90+ day plant.

I`ll only top an auto under node 5 sometimes node 7 max
not normally worth it better to bend them over if they get too tall
but the sativa dom autos might take it better
