Ive got a 400hps with a few plants finishing out under it (about 2 weeks to go), and need to start some new ones. Ive got hermi (feminized) seeds and I have access to regular seeds. I'd like to use the fem seeds because I start them in an Aerogarden that only holds 7 at a time (I dont want to waste the time if will be male).
Last grow, I used good, stable seeds from a trusted and experienced grower, but had to manually turn on and off the light, and I didnt do that at same time very day so a few of the fems started hermi'ing at the end.
I planted some of these seeds and had 100% females, but still didnt do a good job of the lighting schedule and got more hermis by the time they were finished. They were pure female up to about a month thru budding. Some plants had LOTS of seeds this time. One plant in particular never hermied, was super nice, and seemed unreceptive to being pollinated (it was beside all the others that got a lot of seeds, but this one only had a few). I'd like to plant these seeds, but I don't want another garden of hermies (yeah, I know, get a timer, do it right).
So IF I dont screw with the lighting again and I keep stress down, do yall think these will hermi?
See, I dont think these have THAT much of a "hermi trait", but its just that Ive screwed with the lighting times enough to stress these feminized plants (that came from a STABLE female that got stressed) into hermi'ing.
Also, what if I plant these seeds outdoors? At least I cant screw with lighting on them, BUT some days are brighter than others outdoors so there still is a little variable in lighting. Do outdoor plants generally stress MORE or LESS than indoor?
Oh, and I read about some stuff called Reverse that kills male flowers. Should I just go feminized and get a bottle of this Reverse stuff? anybody ever had this same situation?
Sorry one more question: I can't decide whether to try 12/12 from seed or not, can't get a def. answer from forums. Will trying 12/12 make the plants stress more, thus raising chances for hermies?
