ever get that lst'd or scrog'd plant that is such a jungle that it a major pain in the ass to hand water???
Well here is the solution to take away the frustration of watering around all the branches and tie down strings.....
Water rings!!!!!!!
makes watering so simple and easy it's unreal...just mix nutes...plug in pump...and watch it flow!!!
Here is a little step by step on setting up a system.
Supplies...
Scissors
pliers
1/8" diameter nail
lighter
qty. Item used
2 6" long pieces of 1/4" irrigation tubing
4 6 1/2" long pieces of 1/4" irrigation tubing
4 1" long pieces of 1/4 tubing
10 1/4" 3way "t" fittings
4 1/4" irrigation stakes
1 1' long chunk of 1/2 poly tube
1 1/2" poly tube end cap
start by taking the 2 6" long pieces and making a ring with two "t"s connecting them together like so
do the same thing with the 4 pieces of 6 1/2" tubing but obviously it will take 4 "t"s to make the ring.
then on the smaller ring attach another "t" to both the "t"s with the 1" chunks of tube...confusing????see pic!!!!!!lol
then....attach the "t"s on the center ring you have made to two of the outer ring "t"s to make a dual ring.
with me so far???????
Now let's make some holes for the water to come out of!!!!! Take your pliers and get ahold of the nail real tight...heat up the tip of the nail with lighter(use tape to secure the pliers shut so you don't lose the nail or use vice grips....i would of but they are on the job..lol)
now with the size of the ring we have made we should put 6 holes around the center ring....3 on each side spaced out evenly....take the hot nail and carefully make the holes re-heating in between holes.....be careful not to poke the nail through the other side of the ring....we want the water to spray down...not everywhere...lol..........so the same thing on the outside ring but instead we are going to make 12 holes...4 on each piece of tubing....again...spaced out evenly.(nail is fkn hot)
next install the stakes..... Put them on the "t"s...not the tube...ensures tighter fit.
then...........stick it in your pot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now lets talk about the pump and res.
I use a 525gph pump.....overkill for one plant but you could probably run 6-8 plants off this pump...if not more....we need to make a manifold off the pump to feed this thing.
Take the poly tube and poke two holes for the "t"s that will feed the four lines....pop in "t"s......add end cap to one end and viola
i added a 1/2" "t" with a valve so i can relieve the pressure in the lines cause i am only feeding one plant for now....if you're feeding multiple plants or have a smaller plant you probably won't need this but i didn't want to burn up my pump....you know what....add the "t" and valve....protect your investment....just close the valve to increase pressure in the lines till you get the flow you want..
And that's about it.....plug in pump and go...can't really see the water in the pic...sorry
this style of watering is sooooo fkn easy to do....especially if you are growing a thirsty bitch....mix nutes....plug in pump...very even water distribution too...evenly moist soil every time!!!!..it's that easy....
You might be wondering...wtf do you do with the run-off......i got that covered too!!!!!
As you can see the slut sits in an elevated hydro tub filled with hydroton...got a bulkhead fitting on the bottom with a hose that runs to a drain.....like i said......easy!!!!!!
thanks for watching.....enjoy.....hope i inspired someone to build this!!!! Any questions feel free to pm me!!!!!
