pulling out the 2 clumps was like reaching in and pulling out a handful of strong velcro i realize i wasn't very eloquent in that description LOL thanks for caring
 
Close encounters of the "root kind" geeze I feel like Richard Dreyfuss building that cone of roots in the root cellar....get it hehehe

PetFlora with the HR I'm thinking I might be approaching a N over dose, do you cut back during flower? HR feed directions doesn't indicate so! I think I should of kept up the root trimming, they are out of control and the spots where i pulled the roots yesterday look the same no nice new growth yet

I don' t know but this i phone shit sucks excuse me!

so i see the other pics show up below, the one with the brown conical root ball with the circular indented top is where the root structure actually scaffolded right up on all three nozzles in the chamber lid. Go figure, I was going to continue pruning them as I experimented with it was persuaded not to.

Anyway these roots actually then become pretty solid, I first sliced off about 1/2" so the nozzle could at least have some room, then I thought that was a half assed experiment, and proceeded to reach in that beautiful mostly white root structure feel the hard ball grasp it and pull it out I could feel and hear lots of strong fine roots let loose and tear. I did not remove the 3rd ball. Just in case and i haven't touched hb's roots since i pruned them last month.

just a quick note: most the ladies trim under the skirt nowadays, I can at least do the same for my ladies LOL

I used ~ 1000ppm HR (RO) for grow/roots pictured in 4" net pot up until the last 2 weeks then began flush. I no longer have my hpa pics, but they are in my old threads, ~ volleyball size

I don't have any misters in my buckets, so thats not an issue. It's just a bucket and stone, they are all hooked together to a control res that feeds them by gravity, so keeping the buckets full is a snap. I have big air pumps, so my buckets are pretty violent with bubbles. 8-)

Sounds like a good set up, using gravity nice! I thought you used hpa, Couldn't tell from the pic, keep up the good work, i finally have a lady wearing flowers. Thanks for sharing!

Once again the pics where.....the first pic above is hb's main-line prune for two joint, then you can see the second joint, speaking of joints...toke-toke....oh yeah see the picture with the lid open a little. Then look at the red nozzles when the lid goes back down they fit right in little pockets in the root mass, I call it the Close Encounters Syndrome. I'm going to do my best not to disturb them too much might rotate the nozzles, and pro long the agony of CES LOL

They sure are, and they just keep growing, I don't know how the rest of the roots get any nutes past the nozzle groupies, I'm just leaving them, unless the ladies look deprived. The grow compartments above are just as crowded! I had no idea it would get like this. My biggest problem in this grow is everything is growing out of control!
 
Here's an update. I have trimmed roots a couple times

Clone tops are larger than a soft ball and as you can see, quite full

Root mass is ~ half as big. Evidence that large roots aren't the be all end all

USDA Prime Roots, sliced the 3rd mount, i did the other 2 about a week ago you can see lifting the lid those roots coming up again, after pruning, the one on the left was sliced off tonight. Notice the pic with the indentation that is how and why I prune these, they grow right up to the nozzles!

I have noticed some new leaf distortions which I think is directly caused by excessive trimming. Even I may have gone a bit too far
