My dad and his girlfriend are getting back into smoking marijuana again after 40 years. She just got a recommendation for nerve pain suffered from being ran over by a car. I told them they should start growing thier own right away and I told them to buy a 6 tube T5 or 8 tube and every 2 months I would provide enough clones that they could fill thier area up again with little plants. Thier not on a budget but are more interested in growing an ounce or maby 2 in as little space and as convienent as possible.

I own a 4tube T5 which I use for clones and seedlings. I have never flowered nor have I ever seen what buds grown with t5's look like. Im assuming the main thing with t5 or cfl growing is genetics. I have a strain that is such a low yielder that if you tried flowering a clone you would probly only get 2 grams with a t5.(I could be exaggerating). So you would need a high yielding plant that is top quality.
Am I getting this right? Then growers competance comes into play. A good gardener will have no problem getting his plants to thrive up till harvest. A newb might take the same plant and only yield 2 grams like I said. Anyway, I would like to know more about flowering with T5's. If any of you know any good links or journals post them.
Finally- T5 growers lets see your beauties. Post them pics. Any t5 harvest pics.

Quickly looked over the old journal cruzer but I was confused as to the exact lighting set up. Those buds also had LED?? And how big is your t5 fixture?

Ok so this was my first grow i ever did indoors..i used cfl for 3 weeks then went t5 12/12 light cycle with 2 red and 2 blue bulbs..its a 2 foot 4 bulb system...i did 3 bagseed and got approx. 2 oz dry,...enjoyin it now:bigjoint:

Sunblaze 24" Hood T5 HO with four 22W bulbs. I got one 6500k in there.
The CFLs for side lighting. Its in the dual cabinet grow journal.

I just cut today, the cab is 36" wide and 18" deep.

The 24 fixture is pretty cool. I really like the scrog. Well done. I guess these t5's will indeed give you decent yield. 2 oz. from 3 plants is awsome. Couldnt you buy an 8 tube 54 watt and pack hella plants in 6" containers under the thing and have a killer SOG? This is so cool. Now Im really optamistic about these things.

The owner of my local hydro shop seems to think t5's kick ass..i was impressed myself but it was my fisrt run so i have nothing to compare to...but seein yeilds from hps makes me wanna upgrade already

If you don't mind... I was thinking about getting SH's 315w setup with the 3 105w bulbs and also using the Dual Spectrum 2 setup. Reason is that I couldn't find the t5 setup for cheap. Where'd you get it and how can I wire the side bulbs like you have there? +rep for the help. thanks

These guys have a 2 foot 2 bulb 4 bulb and 8 bulb. I was looking for the six but the price of $205 or whatever for the 8 tube fixture is a steal.

There's no link so I don't know where you found it for $205 but I'd like to know, lol.
I figured I would add this info for the guy that started the thread. I found a Snblaze 4' 8 bulb with bulbs for $254. I thought that was a pretty good deal. Get it at bghydro.com

I just got a T5 H/O 4ft f lamp fixture for 225! and it came with the option of 4 6500k bulbs, or 4 3000K bulbs or half half, 3000 is for fruiting flowering, and the 6500 is for growing and seedlings, this things puts out a total of just over 20,000 lumes, and and the replacement bulbs were 6.80 for the 4 foot ones! :) steal, My buddy who i work with had this exact same light setuPP. and grew K-train, he got way more than you guys were talking 2oz, he got over a QP. i am currently growing 2 plants under the 6500k (blue colour) for growing and seedlings. there about 20inches, i am gonna wait till they are about 25" than gonna turn them over with 4 3000k bulbs ( red colour ) for a couple weeks and for the last 2 weeks i am gonna throw in 2 6500k and 2 3000K in !! i am gonna start a grow journal soon, just trying to get my pictures uploaded!!! anyways i got the light fixture from http://www.bustan.ca/product_detail.asp?menuID=4&SID=24&PID=1098 i have the 4ft 4lamp fixture, and i got my extra bulbs from wolf electric !!!

I'll have to check that out, but I gotta say 20,000 lumens is as little under par, don't you think. The Sunblaze w/ 54w bulbs will altogether make around 5k per bulb, that's 40,000 lumens. Add some side lighting with the 2' bulbs and you could have a total of 50,000 lumens. Just a thought.

Good find, but this one would be a little too wide for me. The Sunblaze also fits what I would need. It's 47" long, but only 18" wide. I gotta have room for good ventilation. That's key ya know.

I understood that with fluro grows you only need to worry about fresh circulating air. The lights run warm but not so that your grow space would raise in a significant temp as with HID's.

I have always been acustomed to making sure I had proper ventilation all around. Both exhaust and intake are still great factors. I could/should do a little more research though.
