I've been growing some random bag seed plant since 10/07. I've taken many clones and have put the first set of clones in the "flowering stage/room" and kept one as a new mother and destroyed the original mother. I call her "mom 1"
Since 11/07 I've been growing one Northern Lights plant from Nirvana seeds (only one sprouted since I'm a newbie and germinated incorrectly). I've also been growing another bag seed plant. I call her "mom 2".
Well mom 2 grew super fast and caught up with and passed mom 1 and NL. NL grew really slow and very short. So I ended up cutting down NL to two clones and got rid of the original mom. I was hoping that the reason it grew short and slow was because of my inexperience and not from genetics. From them two NL clones I've cut 6 more clones on 2/08. NL still grew slow and short.
Today 3/16/08 after not checking on them for 5 days one of the first NL clones is covered in white hairs. I think its obvious showing signs of female sex traits. Also, the mom 1 replacement is showing some hairs along with other various mom 1 clones. I think mom 2 is showing some signs but not sure yet.
My veg room is set at 18hrs of light since 1/08 (to help save on energy bills). I'm using some shelves for my veg room and I've set up a 4 tier system (SOG style). Looking into my room on the left, I have 10 White Widow seedlings growing (also from Nirvana via Dr. Chronic) along with some random bag seed seedlings. This tier is set up to support seedings and rooted clones. Above that I have that tier set up to support later stages of growth. Across from that on the right, bottom tier I have the final stage of vegetative growth and above that I have a humidity dome and tray where I root my clones in rock wool and Peralite. In between them I have mom 1 (left) & 2 (right) growing.
One of the first two clones from NL is in the final veg stage at 1600 PPM with 5 other mom clones (set 2 of mom 1). Some of those mom 1 clones are showing the white hairs and NL is not showing any that I can see. The NL that is covered in white hairs is in the mid stage at 1000 PPM. That NL clone is sitting with 5 mom 1 clones (set 3). The other 6 NL are not showing any white hairs yet.
The only thing I can say that I've been doing different is that I switched from AN Sensi-one powder to GH Maxigrow powder. Also, I had some nutrient deficiencies so I've been supplementing with Technaflora MagiCal and Superthrive. When I did the switch and supplementing...five days later...I had the white hairs.
What's strange is that the first set of mom 1 clones that are in my flowering room are not showing any signs of sex. The replacement mom 1 is from that first set of clones and showing white hairs in my veg room.
Can it be that this NL is causing all my other clones to flower in my veg room? Should I move or destroy this NL? Some of the hairs on the mom 1 clones are turning brown. Can't it be that they are trying to revert back to the veg stage? Would I still be able to clone these flowing plants?
I don't want to ruin my WW sprouts. I was so glad that I finally got all 10 to sprout after learning the correct way to germ seeds. I lost 10 Aura Indica seeds because of improper germination.
I'd love some expert help...but any help or comments are welcomed.
