All this organic talk and so on just confuses me even more! ..... This is way too complicated! lol
Fact is, growing good pot does not have to be complicated. This is a great site and I've learned tons here, but you really have to learn to filter out a lot of unnecessary information in most cases. In this particular thread, everyone is clearly trying to help, but in lots of others you get a bunch of extra posts from people who are basically showing off and want us all to know how advanced and talented they are, or how much fancy gear they have. That is the kind of stuff that can easily confuse new growers, and it is stuff they don't need to know when starting out. Someone asks a simple question about soil or nutes, and by the time the thread slows down others are discussing PPM and PH for hydro. Right?

If you can grow good tomatoes, you can grow good weed. Really, it's that simple. Yes, the advanced techniques of experienced and talented growers will result in better bud and more bud, but solid, simple gardening practices should result in a harvest that will very much please a beginner. Get a good soil and a simple fertilizer or two (grow & bloom), give enough light, don't over-water and watch for pests. I've used Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil for the last couple of years but there are other good choices. I use MaxSea All Purpose and Bloom fertilizers along with CalMag when needed and Miracle Gro's Nature's Care Insecticidal Soap if I find bugs. That's it. Not complicated, and damn successful.

Good luck, and have fun.

Thanks for the reply..and yes it can get confusing. I remember the days of satellite piracy lol..I was a top dog on forums and I remember how some people were at times:) My seeds are almost done germinating..taproot is visible. Will be planting tonight or tomorrow. Ive been labelled as an 'organic' grower lol...I only chose the stuff I did because it seemed the least complicated. I want to try to add as little as possible to the soil so I don't have to worry about ph and the likes. Its why I was searching for worm castings as I read they are like black gold to a gardener..they help a lot in the soil! I couldn't find it here. Same with dolomite lime..i heard it adds magnesium and calcium, plus it helps balance the ph..so I figured great..its ano brainer..but cant find that either in stores. I'll keep a journal on this site once the 2 are planted and show their first true leaves:)
