well today is the third day since i last posted in that time, the first cake had finished fruiting, dropped spored EVERYWHERE and started rotting. the second cake had finished fruiting, dropped spores EVERYWHERE ELSE, and began to rot the 3 other cakes had begun to fruit but also have rot started on them, not green mold but brown decaying slime. i cleared out the chamber, washed it all with alchohol, and i am now trying to get rid of the TERRIBLE stink... i gotta say i'm not happy, i have one more jar nearly colonized, it is taking alot longer than the cakes i just threw out but hopefully it will finish within a week.

i'm a bit disapointed, sry no picks, everyone that lives here couldn't figure out wtf the horrid stink was...i threw them out really quick.

They rotted because of the spores......? Are you sure you didn't leave the mushrooms in there for too long, or you didn't pull the base of the stems as well (including the attached mycelium)?

Two of my harvests in the past dropped the purple stuff all over the place. They certainly did not rot... That's why I'm asking. Then again, I don't know the specifics of your environmental conditions.

Sorry to hear about your luck, though.

link to order what? lol sry if i missed something

no i'm pretty sure they were just left too long befor i pulled them, i left for three days and when i left they were about an inch tall, i figured it would take a week or so befor they were ready, unfortunately they were all over 6 inches when i got home, the spores didn't cause them to rot. i think it was excessive humidity, the gauge said it was 97% when i got home. strain was B+, 3 inches of perlite, and a small bowl with a fish tank bubble stone to keep moisture up.

i never imagined that they could grow so fast.
