Sick plants. Did alot of research before posting. Please Help.

Hey, I looked around here and other sites for a good two weeks before posting and there are way too many possibilities for my untrained eyes.

Here's some pics. Leaves are yellowing from the stem out as opposed to the tip and new leaves are also contorted and at odd angles. Stems were turning red, may have stopped.

I'm growing in cheap "nute free" soil. I'm using about 1/4 tsp. of Miracle Gro Tomato fert every other watering (I water every 2-4 days. Temp sits between 78-82 with plenty of air circulation and I'm fairly sure the drainage is ok.

My crappy PH reader says PH is at 7 on the left plant and 7.5 on the right.

Any help is greatly appreciated. And remember, I'm super inexperienced. If you tell me to put something in the soil, please tell me how much. lol. Thank you!

Is the yellowing only on newer growth? If it is, it might just be that the leaves have not attained full colour yet. As the growth progresses it gets darker. I'd wait to see if it gets better or worse before adding anything

Never personally saw this before, iron or sulphur deficiency?

I dont see anything. The lighting makes it very hard to distinguish actual leaf color from tinting from the lights

BTW Those are new growth shoots, give them some time to grow and they will even out.

Your PH is too high. It needs to be 6.5 Also stop using miracle grow nutes they are trash (no offence) Get some good nutrients and some Cal-Mag. Use reverse osmosis water.

This is true, leaves come do come out pale. I use 1/2 tsp MG 24-8-16 EVERY watering, so if you started w/nute free soil there is a chance you need to up your nutes. I've never one time on this forum suggested that anybody up their nutes. But, I am giving my plants over 4X the nitrogen that you are, and they are thriving. Check out my "trash plants" grown with "trash MG products" in my sig.

Most people who diss MG stuff never even tried it, they are just parroting what the have read on the internet. I think it makes them feel better about spending big $ on the same fertilizer compounds in MG (NH4, P2O5, and K2O). Sure some have additional micro-nutes, so add some cheap micros.

You get the right ratio of macronutrients, and supply all the needed micronutrients, and you got it dicked, it's all fertilizer in the end.

I think it is newer growth but the contorted leaves are definitely not normal. I'm pretty sure it's a nut' def' but I can't find a good remedy. "Use this to make your plant better" but no amount to use or "1/4 tsp per gallon of water per gallon of dirt" type ratios. Let me see if I can fix the lighting and take some better pictures. Thanks to anyone who's been helping and may stick around to help me some more.

Better pic's hopefully. Even if the lighting is off to the point that you can't tell the exact color, you can tell there is discoloration. Dark green outer leaf with light green inner leaf. I understand the new growth being light colored. But, that drastic of a difference on ONE leaf? And see, for example how the leaf in the first pic is aiming down, away from the rest of the fingers? It's not dangling, it's firmly growing that direction.

I've seen that before. I guess it looks like a sulfur issue along with some other things. Main concern is the bendy leaves and bad color. If anyone sees this who has had and remedied this problem, please let me know.

Thanks to all you other guys! Good to know I'm not the only one looking at this plant going "Uhhh, this is weird." =P

1/4 tsp /gal of Miracle Gro is pretty light. Listen to Aim Aim and try 1 tsp/gal, at least a couple times, and you will see them green up.

As long as there are sulfates in the MG, should that lower the PH a little bit, too? I'm between using more MG and buying sulfer to lower the PH.
