Sick World

Damn dude that's messed up! I've kicked around the idea of buying a pistol before for protecting my family/home. I have kids, so the thoughts go thru my mind about my kids getting a hold of the gun and something bad happening to one of them, but then I think to myself that I would never forgive myself if some deranged nut broke in to our house with weapons and I had no means of protecting my family. It's an issue where there just isn't a right answer for me, and I wrestle with it often. I couldn't see myself ever carrying a gun around out in public, but if something like what happened to your girl went down with my wife, I may even consider a cpl. I don't know ..... it's a fucked up world we live in.

I hope your old lady is OK.
took several years before my wife and i both finally agreed upon pistols in our home for protection. i live in a pretty decent area just north of the D but there have been several home invasions within the past few years less than a mile from my home. shit happens everywhere not just shitty neighbohoods. i work nights so it was even more important to me that my wife had some means of protecting herself and our kids when i can't be there. but i can't stress safety and training enough. since leaving a loaded weapon in the nightstand drawer is out of the question and i am not a fan of trigger locks we use a good quick access digital safe. gunvault, stack-on and bulldog all make decent ones
