side growth at 2 weeks?

Snow White plant is now 2 weeks old. The lowest 2 sets of fan leaves are drooping and yellowing with brown spots/patches. Can anyone help, please? I'm not sure what it is or how to fix it. I know it's kind of a vague description, so I will post a pic when I get home from work.

My generic indica under the same growing conditions is doing fine, not exhibiting any of these problems. I have yet to test pH for lack of having a meter or test kit, but I ordered a digital meter and it is coming via UPS 2nd Day, I should have it by 1/13. I'm just hoping it comes in time enough for the problem not to spread too much.

Unfortunately, this is an ongoing problem, only a couple days into experiencing it when the pics were posted. The pH testing/adjusting stuff I ordered should be delivered today unless it's been held up by all the snow in my area lately. At least I can say this grow is doing great in at least one area, and that being a very good learning experience.

Through the help of much reading, I've come to the conclusion that my Snow White's problem is a potassium deficiency. To (hopefully) solve this problem I've flushed the soil with about a gallon of clean water, and when it's dry again I will feed her a well balanced diet to help her out in that department.

Just to update, Snow White is doing well. What I did worked, the damage on the leaves has stopped spreading, and the plant seems to be slowly returning to normal growth. The K-deficiency made her stretch a bit, but I'll take that over her being sick or dead. I started LST for both plants, since they're both about the same height now, and they are taking to that very well too. My Indica which is about 5 weeks is doing especially well, she's starting to look nice and bushy.

The plants are doing great. The indica is showing tiny preflowers on lower branches and has a light "weedy" smell (approx. 6 weeks from sprout), snow white is preflowering and growing asymmetrically now (approx. 4 weeks from sprout), she's not exactly great looking, but she's not recommended for soil growing either, so it is what it is. Stopped doing LST on the main stem for the indica, she's branching out nicely and I will tie off the branches as they get bigger, I'm going for a kind off "octopus" look, lol, 1 head with 8 arms. Still LST'ing snow white to hopefully increase the yield, but I'm thinking she's going to be a bit of a flop, unfortunately, but I'll still flower her out and see what happens. Both plants have been transplanted within the last day or two, as soon as they've had some time to adapt, a couple days most likely, I'm going to switch over to 12/12 and add 2 42w 2700k CFL's, and take away 2 26w 6500k, making it a total of a 500w equiv. of mixed spectrum lighting. I was also recently given a 3 week old seedling to save by a friend that almost killed it. That one is basically just going to be forced into flowered along with the others as I don't have another space for vegging, unless I just stick it in a box with a clamp light, lol.

Pics later.

As of last night I've set everything up to start flowering. Set up a timer, put in 2 150w CFL bulbs at 2700K spectrum, which replaced 2 (of 4) 100w 6500K bulbs, for a total of 500w mixed spectrum lighting. Set the timer to do 18 on/6 off for a week, and will go to 12/12 next week/weekend. I've removed the seedling and given it some desk space with a 100w 6500K bulb of its own, since I plan on letting it mature for at least a couple more weeks before being forced into a flower photoperiod. While I was readying everything, I noticed a couple mites in Snow White's pot, I'm guessing the soil she was recently repotted into was infested, since her's is the only pot with the little creeps at the moment. I bought some spray today and will be treating tonight, hopefully before it gets out of hand.

I made two decisions since my last post, 1) I said screw the 18/6 and just went to 12/12, 2) I topped my bagseed indica for two reasons, to try to control height (she's been growing like a ... weed, heh), and to push some of the lower branches to fill in so she gets all nice and bushy. I also temporarily tied her over just a bit to get some light to the area that I want to branch out, since one side has more growth than the other. My snow white is still going through LST, with about 12 branches growing up toward the light along with the main top, forming a nice level little canopy across the whole plant. No signs of mites since I sprayed, but I will follow up with a couple repeat treatments as per bottle directions, and no other apparent problems besides some minor nute burn on the very tips of some of the lower/older leaves. It took me a while at first to realize she doesn't like as many nutes as the pure indica. Both are doing great now in spite of some setbacks early on. :bigjoint:
