Silencing a Centrifugal Fan

Hi, I haven't posted on here in a very long time so I apologize if I am unclear or this was posted somewhere else and I couldn't find it.

I have a Can Fan MAX 6" hung on bungees (for vibration dampening) in a converted solid wood wardrobe. It is major overkill, but I had it and it is very quiet as fans go. I was able to create a sound deadening chamber for the outflow of air that works well, but the fan itself I would like to quiet down. I used the reflectix mylar bubble wrap on the interior which seems to help, but is there a better material I can wrap it in to decrease the noise? The mylar bubble wrap isn't exactly the easiest to wrap around a fan and not very effective. I am actually quite proud of this grow cabinet, I will post pictures when I can.

I never got the bungee cord thing, because a good fan is well balanced.

Your fan isn't a centrifugal one.

Try using a variac (a good one isn't cheap though) to slow down the fan, ofcourse this will be less flow but it sounds like you don't need that much.

Sorry I was confused, your right it is not a centrifugal fan. I have it on the lowest setting, which seems to work well, I wouldn't want less if I could help it as air resistance through the dark room louvers is high. One of the reasons I like this fan is that is it compact and the space is so small things are mounted in odd places. That and I am being absolutely paranoid about sound. Even smell takes a back seat.
