Simple but highly effective (cloneing)

I have had a fair few pm's about cloneing, this is how I clone now,the messages I have received are a bit mad to be honest,to put it simple, there is no need to over complicate things .

This is how I clone, when I take the clone I try to take the clone so that most of the stem is below medium level,I never take my clones to big, they will just take longer to root.

Step one
-------------
Take the clone ,use something like a wooden kebab skewer to measure the stem length,so it will go into the medium but be about 5/7mm from the bottom of the cube ,I make the holes in the cubes with the kebab skewer,so it fits easy with out pulling all the rooting gel of the stem,

Once the clones cut and measured I give it a forest 45 dg cut and straight into the clone x or I be using aloe Vera a late,it works brilliant.I then push the medium around the stem once in the cube.

I mist the clones twice a day for about 5 days ,I also mist the inside of the propagator lid, when ever misting the clones. After 5 days I mist once a day,for about 2/3 days I do the inside of the lid when I mist the clones, you need a really fine mist,I do it above them and let the mist fall on the clones,

The roots should be through any day now I no longer mist,I just wait till I see roots ,making sure that the cubes do not dry out ,you want the cubes damp not wet through.I use a simple CFL bulb and lamp, once rooted I leave them till they have a nice root stock healthy nice white roots.

Here is my cloning set up simplicity in its self Jack herer of the mother I have also I Jack herer set of clones that I'm sexing at the minute,I'm sexing the mother rather than the clones, all my rooms are full ,so I will keep a clone of the msnl Jack.image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

thanks for posting i disagree with almost every thing you posted above . one thing i want to know . how come in your room bigger plants take longer to clone then smaller ones ? i cut 1 footers and get roots just as fast as smaller ones . and i hate rooting hormones and humidity domes . ok you can use a dome for the first 2 days non hydro . the cut on the stem makes no difference at all i tested every way it all worked the same . also your posting about cloning what temps are you using ? the most important factor about cloning you never mentioned . i do not like cfl for clones i prefer led purple in color promoted root formation a cfl works but no as good as the led .

I've never been able to root a clone without a dome when using Rockwool. They just seem to wither and die :(. If I take it off before roots show they still wither and die :(. In saying that I get roots in 6-7 days using root riot cubes, soft white t5, and a opaque tray with lid. I use rusty razors and discarded res water lol. Last few runs were 100% success with 75 clones total :).

I clone almost exactly the same as you.

Another thing to mention is ideally you don't want above 6000 lux and keep rh as high as you can (mine is normally in the 90's. I take 20 or so cutting with scissors, cutting just below the node I want to cut through, and place it in water till I've collected the first lot. After that I cut at the standard 45 straight through the node (this is said to help promote rooting due to more growth hormones within the node.

Give it a dollop of clonex and into my own formed hole in the rockwool.
It should be said that the rockwool is Soaked in a solution ph's to 5.5 (as rockwool has a naturally high ph 5.5 is for it to balance out to about 5.8.
And before hand I will have held the cube loosely and shaken the cube till there is hardly any water left (maybe 15-20 shakes). You never want to squeeze the rockwool cubes as they are designed to have air inside.
My cuttings are usually 6-8 inches long and even though small cuttings tend yo exhibit more vigor later in life I find slightly larger cuttings to give me a higher success rate. Once the clones are in the dome I keep it completely sealed for the first week opening it a few times a day to recycle the air for a few minutes. They also get sprayed with a solution every other day that consists of 5ml nitrozyme 5ml of formulex 30 drops of liquid oxygen and 36 drops of bud wetter to a litre of water. And that's it

Thanks, this is much they system used by an old Hippy pal of mine that I source clones from.. from time to time. I myself use a home brew areo cloner.
