Simple Plan...for condo grow.

I'd like to grow my own meds and have a 2x4x5 tent. I live in a condo with a small balcony so I have no room to brew teas etc.
My plan is to use Hp mix/perlite as my medium.
My hydro store has Gaia 4-4-4 which I sprinkled and dug in on some hibiscus I have and they loved it. All kinds of new growth.
Can this be used, monthly?, and then use some kind of compost tea concentrate in addition?
Any and all advice is appreciated.
By the way the medium would be mixed and stored in a bin on the balcony.

Woah, that gaia shit is superxpensive bro. Just take your time to find out something below 0.5$/lb mark buddy. Also for your 0.4$/gal of fluffy soilmix watchout landscapping webs/products; whoever is selling or giving input of substrates adapted to cold/warm environments.

For top dressing basics just go to my grandma gardening blog. Keywords are depletion/replenish of nutrients, organic matter & microherd collapse prevention.

By the way the medium would be mixed and stored in a bin on the balcony
ok, no problemo for little platt just dont even try to add gaia prior to storing it, you cant store such huge load of N (prolly high % of ammonia), you'll be attracting N loving fungi on closed bins and bags. On the other hand you can safely Mix & store/cook wood ashes.

good luck!

I used to plant a vegetable garden every year but I have no idea about the costs of various products.
I wouldn't amend the soil prior to using it.
Would the system work? Would the use of compost teas from concentrate be effective?
If I'm going the expensive commercial route can you suggest a cheaper alternative?

When I said, mixed and stored on the balcony I just meant the hp mix/perlite. No other amendments.

gotcha

I'm pretty sure your system is gonna work m8. 8)
For the cheaper alternative just buy whatever has +40%OM around the 0.5$/lb mark. It isnt easy, much more harder than finding your love. You dont need more than 2 kilo per 50gals soil. It deserves attention ^
Some other things
-Cant remember exactly but its around 5% perlite . It worth a check
-Buy some micronized foodgrade gypsum and epsom salts. It will help digest all that N
