OK first things first. There is a key on your keyboard it looks like this > . < Please use it...not trying to be a dick, but man that was a pain in the ass to read.

If you are just looking to exchange some air in the room and have a window nearby just grab a 2 fan window fan, set one side for intake, one side for exhaust and cover the outside of it with some nylon screen material from home depot a couple times. That should sufficiently keep out bugs and give you a cooler room :)

oh, and if you'll notice there isn't much for "bugs" outside when it starts getting cold :)

you don't have to worry about spiders...they eat bugs not plants...its spidermites you have to worry about :)

All summer I had a 6500 CFM fan blowing out an upstairs window.

Two inches of snow last night and today. Now the window is barely cracked and the fan is at the top of the stairs blowing down. No furnace during light periods yet.UV 10-07.jpg I took out a 20" fan to poke the camera in. The fan sucks out.

But all the fans point towards that window with the big fan in it, bugs can not travel upwind. It sucked air in from every crack in the house, held doors shut. Luckily I have a summer fresh air inlet on the north side I opened.

If you're not good with two-way fans and bug proofing with screen, then a less expensive fan aimed dead center at the open window will blow air out and keep bugs out, an out out situation.
If the house is really airtight, using a broom handle to hold open the door furthest from the room will serve as an inlet. Fewer bugs than an open window anyway, nothing is perfect without hard work. I do the trade-off.

i place a thin sheet of wood 8ftx8ft or watever size ur window is just slightly bigger than ur window frame and place this sheet over the window entirely before screwing or tapeing it in place, cut out a 4 inch hole, so now u av sheet of ply wood 2mm thick or so real thin stuff with ur 4 inch hole in the centre, leave ur window slightly ajar my window alows me to av it locked but with a small gap for air to get in is what i do then is place a duct flange onto the hole and off this flange connected to the ply over the hole u can now bring in fresh air from outside via a 4 inch fan which cost about 15 pound and some ducting with no light escaping outside,, this is wat i did the whole thing fan duct the plysheet was less than 25 pound. i bought a cheap set of alliminium blinds for ten pound for the window so the outside world just see a set of blinds and not the ply sheet u put up in the inside, i dont no if curtains will work as u will be pullin in air which in turn will move the curtains about but with alliminum blinds there is no movement and it brings in nice clean cool fresh air from out side and no one will no any diff,, it is esential to av a intake if the room is hot and u need good air exchange to keep temps down n plants happy !!

ps i just coppied some dutch guy off utube and i must say it works a treat, good look man !!
