Welcome to RUI. Read the forum stickies. Troll around. Learn who know's what and who doesn't. Buy a few books, some on cannabis, some on general gardening. Anything marketed at the cannabis grower is BS. The sooner you accept that, the better off your wallet will be. When in doubt trust in old ladies who grow roses and tulips or the farmer that grows monster watermelons and pumpkins.
My favorite book on gardening is Square Foot Gardening. It's not about cannabis, but it will sure teach you the basics of growing just about anything.
