i am not speaking from experience so LED growers will have to weigh in but from what i understand they are great for vegging but need some HPS help when it comes to flowering (for now).
again - i don't use them so could be talking directly out of my ass
yes they do work, and they work very very good i get them from ledlights4less.com and im very impressed they seem expensive but not once your plants start budding and getting you stoned to the bone
I would be spending 230 for a cool tube and HPS, I have already bought a carbon scrubber and a computer fan, and a 6 inch inline fan I guess it would work out nicely to just do LED but I am growing in a cabinet and am interested in the yield via LED vs HPS, I would need to have a bunch of LED to equal the yield the 400 would do I bet
Go with the hps. LED still needs alot of work before it can start growing high light plants. NASA is working on it, once they find away to prefect them and start realeasing the technology to companies then you could condider going LED.
If I was only an astronaunt I could speed things up. I really like the low profile of those lights in a confined space, but if I am going through all the expense of the box, and the trouble I want the bang for my buck and a better yield. I wll just start flowering a little earlier cause of the lesser space
600 super HPS digital. Most light per watt. LED yields are tasty but much smaller . If you don't need much bud you can go with the UFO and save the power.
If you want good LED lights go to www.fuzzlight.com these lights are really good for growing much better than the others and they are very chaep to run
