nothing wrong with a plant grown normal. if you still take up most of your grow space your yields won't be hit too bad. keep it strait and you won't regret it homie
I have unlimited grow space, God's play ground is great that way aha

As for your original question ....yes training and topping etc a plant into a nice bush with many tops in her canopy is going to yeild more than just letting it grow naturally into a pine tree looking plant ......but some the biggest buds I've ever seen have come from plants that were left to grow naturally ....wich it's cool to have and see a giant cola from time to time .....but then you got to watch for rot super close on those massive colas especially in wet areas ....good luck happy growing
How would I go about preventing bud rot on it later on?

Do a little at a time. You could even break it over and it would heal.
Yes I like this method ..some people are way to tender with training ...I do this and if I break to much of the outer I just use some duct tape to cover the wound ....and havnt had an issue doing it.......I'm not saying it's not possible to be to rough but most people don't realize how hardy a healthy MP actually is ....

This is what I would do. Pinch and bend until you can get it horizontal, then stake it there. All the shoots along that stem will get good and fat.
Only issue with bending the whole thing over is the main stock is like a tree, it's not very bendy,

What if I topped it and then super cropped all the other shoots so they were all horizontal and left it upright? I know I won't leave a plant untopped again aha I really regret it.

I was thinking of bending it over, I just don't want to fuck it up at this point.
Judging the thickness compared to your arm in the picture, it looks very doable. Pinch hard where it starts to get leggy till you feel the fibers crush, and while still pinching, bend the top back and forth until it gives.

Should I try to super crop the main stem as far down towards the bottom as I can? And top it while I'm at it?

Just want to make sure I'm 100% clear on what your suggesting. Also if this works it's going to be a crazy mass of shoots going straight up along the whole plant

Lots of options, but I wouldn't bend so low. If it were mine, I'd bend where the leader starts to separate itself from the fuller part of the plant and probably leave the rest alone. Severely bending the top will stimulate growth throughout and beef up the rest. Maybe pinch the other leaders if you really have four weeks left.

Don't regret it the outcome could still be very decent ....you can obviously do all those things it's whatever you like ....but if your new to topping and all that I'd personally wait until the next go around so you can too it while it's young and form it that way ....just do some lst on it tie those side branches away it will help or slowly train the whole top over if you want .....are you getting into flower phase because if you are don't cut on her just tie some branches .......just remember to if you have lots of wind coming from a certain direction you may have to put some what I call safety ties on the ones your bending in the same direction as the wind so they don't go to far and snap

I should have 4 weeks I won't harvest till the second week of October.

I'm not that new to topping I've been topping for a couple grows now, I'm not expert by any means though.

Dam shame you did not set her in the ground a bit back where there looks like there is more light, big ass plants multipul topping then table over them start of flowering ,indoors outdoors just keep tieing the tops down this will give you a plant with mult top's but easy to manage
There in 30 gallon pots, I move them around all the time aha and there's preflowers on them now so I just bent all the lower shoots out some , I'm not going to stress her out by super cropping, I might put a stake in the ground and tie the top over but it's all lst from not on, don't wanna risk a hermi
