Yea you can flower just from seed and get single cola plants but if you want more uniformity you should clone and then induce flowering after they rooted.. I just haven't got a place to keep a mom yet. I can fit 8 of those 5" pots in my cabinet and average a half ounce off each one. I'm now starting some in 4" pots I just got and I'm able to perfectly fit 15 of those in there, can't wait to see what I get out of them. I did some White Widow like this that were great looking as well, I did them in 7" square pots. I'm working my way down to the smallest possible pot without hurting yield.Say someone wants only SHORT single cola plants.
What is the best method for that?
Cut clones and 12/12 them? Chop the cola on the mother plant and clone that?
Wow - Those buds look great!Genetics plays a part. There's a strain called Nefertiti that is bred for single cola growth. Any strains marked as suitable for SOG are likely to put out a lot of branches and would be unsuitable. 12/12 tends to restrict sidebranching too but you probably need the right genetics to be sure of a single cola if that's what you want.
My growspace is only around 16 inches so I'm in the same boat as you but I tend to use LST to give me around 10 small colas off one plant. I just wait until around the 4th or 5th set of leaves and tie the top growth down so it is below the bottom of the side branches.
The pic isn't great but you can see 7 or 8 colas on the biggest plant that have been done in this way.
That is what I am talking about!sorry these pics suck. I need a new camera
its about 5 inches tall
Wow great grow!!! I like the setup.Yea you can flower just from seed and get single cola plants but if you want more uniformity you should clone and then induce flowering after they rooted.. Here's a few pics of my Power Plant I just harvested. She is a 80% sativa so she was a bit tall and branchy, but there were a couple with a pretty good single cola. I just planted my new seeds (more PP and power skunk) tonight and i'll be flowering right when they all sprout up to get this grow done as fast as possible, i'm kinda on a time constraint.
I usually flower at about 1.5 weeks from seed, which there usually like 2-4 inches tall. I flowered all of the power plant at about 2 weeks and they ended up about 22" at the tallest. My widow I flowered at 1.5 weeks ended up at about 18" on average think so it just depends on what strain you get. Here's a link to my grows if you wanna check 'em out: https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/118652-pazzos-s-o-g-250w.html

WOW - Great work!tnrtinr, I picked it up from a cannabis dispensary and im not sure how long they had it vegging for. When i got it i vegged it for about 3 weeks but it suffered major transplant shock. It should almost double the size because the roots were 5" long when i got it. Its on day 17 of flower now.
