Single Plant Apartment Balcony Grow

Preface:

Last 2 times I grew was outside, in really fertile soil in rainy weather where the jungle right outside the farm is extremely dense with vines, trees, grasses, shrubs, flowers, you name it, the plants grew themselves I just went out there to make sure nobody had stolen them. Then one day I arrive and all my plants were chopped. neighbor told me some kids from the 'hood' were seen inside the farm, looks like they cut through the farm to shorten their walk time, and saw the plants, told somebody and now I can't have my pretty plants outdoors where I want them....

So I'm going to do an experiment - a single autoflower plant, grown in my balcony. I want to see if a single plant really will yield enough for personal use (I’m a light MJ user at this point, mid 30s, got a wife n kid, business owner – can’t be high all the time right now) I cannot get 18/6 veg lighting – it will be 12/12 all natural sunlight. The plant will only get about 5-6 hours of direct sunlight, the rest of the time it is indirect because of shadows from trees, and my own building.

One more thing: This is a journal, not a forum looking for all sorts of advice. I am not a noob, and I am not the most experienced grower. I sit in the middle. I will not be discussing or responding a lot. I would appreciate if you guys don’t spam the journal with inquiries, comments or suggestions as I want it to be sort of clean for other users that might be interested in this story. If needed or if you guys really really beg for it, I’ll open another forum in the discussion sub-forum where we can discuss whatever – but please keep your own comments to a minimum – I’ll ask a mod to delete spam comments if I have to.

The posts will be steady, but I don't think I have time to do daily updates. Please be patient.

This is a live-happening event. January 11, 2019 the seeds are in germ.

Without further nonsense – let’s get to the grow.

Grow Technical Specs:

Genetics: VIP-Seeds Northern Delights Auto. According to the website a 70 day cycle from seed to chop. Not sure about the seedbank, or the strain, but they did come with the sweet MMJ sticker and with a nice booklet with very very incomplete MJ growing info. There were good things said in comments on different online marketplaces.

Medium – Soil – regular old black soil. Costs 80 dollars for 5 yards locally. I’ll go into the soil prep next. Single pot 24 Liters. Dimensions – approx. – 35cm tall and wide (round shape)For US folk that’s about a foot. Approx 24 L or 6 gallon capacity.

Nutes – Autos don’t use a lot of nutes but I’ll use cheap-o nutes as always, as well as some unsulphured molasses and I do PH control on my water and let water sit out to evaporate chlorine and what not. I know I might get some grief for this ‘cheap nutes are OK’ and some of you swear by top-shelf organic, gluten-free, free-range nutes – but whatever. Like I said this is a journal I’m not discussing, I’m storytelling -

Environment - my balcony. It is closed in with glass, so it’s almost like a greenhouse. The plant will sit next to some Basil, Chamomille and Parsley we have outside. Temps here are mild to coldish all year around. High of 70F/21C and lows of 46F/8C are the norm. During the day the plant will sit outside at night it sleeps inside. The balcony doesn’t get 100% dark either as we have lights from a nearby park that pollute a bit, I might throw a blanket or something to darken the night cycle. During the day my other plants sit on the flashing – pic of our Basil plant chillin – this is the spot where my mmj plant will sit.

QUICK NOTE - Personal Narcotics growing was authorized by the Supreme Court in Colombia in the 1990s as an ancestral right to every person to try to ensure their well-being and self-medicate. A person can have a small cultivation that will not count as a commercial plantation if it is less than 20 plants, total, per household (Coca and Marijuana plants are the two named in this instance). There was a anti-drug decree passed by the government where police can now confiscate and fine anybody caught with what the Supreme Court legalized in the 1990s. Inlcuding MMJ plants, even if it is less than the 20 that was legalized. This is a legal gray area where I am from, but I see Marijuana plants on balconies, in back yards and in window sills. If you are unaware of the legality of marijuana growing in your area, please do not have your marijuana plant as visible as I will have mine. The police will come and arrest you if you break the law.

Day -1, 0 and 1. – Germ and Soil Prep

I’m germing a single seed at a time as I want to grow just 1 plant. I know this will probably prolong the germ phase but what can I do? First seed in the papertowel today- I’ll give it 5 days if not I’ll go on to the next.

I went ahead and started the soil prep.

I use black soil we use for our native trees and some flowers. Like I said it costs like 80 dollars per 5yds or something like that so it’s cheap, yet good enough for my purpose.

I do soil prep the lazy way

For the mix I just use sand and soil. I don’t buy perlite or other additives because at the moment this is a hobby, There’s free sand on the farm and the soil is cheap. 1.5 parts sand to 9 parts of soil. Not quite 20% not 10%... it’s in the middle. That’s the base I use – nothing more.

I take a small cow patty and douse it in tap water, no worries if it sat out or not, enough to cover it. About 1.5 gallons of water more or less. Let that sit for about 20 mins then I stir to get what I like to call ‘Life Juice’. This then gets poured on top of the soil in a non-dripping container. I use a stick as a type of sifter to stop any large globs of manure to fall into the soil – I just let the water and the loosey goosey stuff fall in – any large nugs of shit that make it in I remove and throw out. Since the container is not draining the water will kind of sit in the soil and this I let sit for 2 days while stirring twice a day to aerate it. This helps dry the water out.

I then take a gallon of tap water that has sat out for a day - mix it with 2 hefty spoonfuls of molasses (the larger ones in the kitchen not the tiny coffee ones) – I also add half a cap of white vinegar to acidify it (around here it brings it to 6.4 more or less)– give it a nice shake - and this gets poured into the soil as well. Same thing 2 days aerating until it is dry. The soil prep is done.

Now I'm waiting for something to germ - next update will have pics of the little seedling and the small pot I start the plants out in.

Peace.

Day 3 – Jan 13 2019 – We have a sprout!

So the tap root or whatever it’s called finally cracked. The baby went into the soil tap root down, about a nail’s worth deep. Pics below

Tap root showing

How deep I buried it 2-2.5 CMs – tap root down.

Then I put a bit of water (had to be straight tap water I forgot to let it sit out overnight).

wrapped in seran wrap to keep moisture up, I put it outside because it is warm out today. Some folks swear the seedling needs to be in a dark place, some swear it's gotta be warm, some say it's gotta be cold....

Anybody having trouble sprouting seeds - you take a paper towel, wet it, wring it till it drips 1 drop if that, you want it very moist not quite dripping. Wrap the seed in it, put the wrap inside a zip-top bag. Wait 2-3 days. And they sprout. I put them in the paper towel on the 11th it is the 13th morning and it is sprouted. One more edit - once maybe twice a day open up the bag and open the wrap until there's one layer of paper towel between you and the seed - drop one or 2 drops of water on the paper towel directly on top of the seed. return to bag.

I see a lot of info in the noob area where dudes are putting special water in, warmed to a specific temperature, then kept on a warming pad, electric gizmos galore- then they use special tweezers and what not…. Unless your operation is industrial running 100s of plants, where you use statistical process control to establish baselines for success as you germ 100s of plants per week - I honestly don’t know why you wouldn’t just use a paper towel.

EDIT: added the pic of the seedling under plastic.

Nothing to report today - seed went in the soil Sunday. 1-2 more days and it'll come out. I took out the plastic 'tarp' as the sun hasn't been that strong and the soil was fairly wet. The pot has sat outside during the day (gets around 22-23C in there during the day) and it sleeps inside at night since it drops into 7-8 range at night.

one thing I do have to report is I have a 'thing' coming up -right around the week of harvest and I'll be out of town. That means I will chop at the very end and I'll hope for the best. this is now a race against time.... 70 days from now is March 26 I plan on travelling the 23rd and I don't have any baby leaves or anything even peeking yet... so this will come down to the wire. I want to dry and leave them in thecuring jars before I leave....

so I think I went too deep with the seed burying. I think I could've gotten away with less depth (i did the fingernail thing where I dig a hole about a fingernail deep ends up being 2-3 cms deep).... not sure and it's too late now..... this is already buried and growing.....

I only mention this because like I said this is now a race - and I already messed up twice.

1) Buried it too deep
2) Need to transplant - delay of 1-2 days while the plant gets to know it's new home.

I think I might see some baby leaves by tomorrow as what I believe is the seedling seems to have barely broken surface this afternoon (this morning it wasn't there). it's sunny this afternoon maybe the warmer weather will help it.

temperatures have been a concern lately. very cloudy, and a gentle, but constant breeze... not scientifically certain if the high altitude makes it feel colder, but I sure as shit think it does.....at night you see it go down into the 7-8Cs (45-50) at night, which is normal (the plant will sleep inside the 'glass' terrace which keeps the temp slightly higher.... but it's still coldish.....but it's been high's of 16-17C (low-mid 60sF) and it feels colder because of the breeze.... so I'm making an executive decision I am not going to be putting the plant where the basil plant sits every day. it's too cold right now. it is sleeping inside the glass where it is warmer.....

I am aware I have common weeds growing in my soil I know, our soil sits outside under a tarp that doesn't do a very good job and I watered the soil down with some 'Life Juice' it happens. it'll be fine I'll just rip them out as I see them.....

oh yeah - baby leaves are out. I missed one hell of a chance to make a 12 hour time lapse of the leaves opening... I'll get it next time.

so right now the plant is precariously sitting on our clothes dryer between two thin pipes (perfect for one of those microquakes that happen 2-3 times a month) - you imagine?
............
So let me complete this post by discussing more about my lighting

I am in Colombia, near the equator and days are 12/12 nearly all year round.

Where I am at the balcony faces southwest. there's plenty of tall huge eucalyptus trees in a nearby park and my building is 8 stories tall which block out part of the sunlight from the east. If you know Bogota, the East has tall mountains so even though the sunrises at 6am more or less- there's no direct sunlight until almost 8am. and my plant just got direct sunlight at 945am am more or less, thanks to the building as well as the trees I mentioned. So I am strategically placing the plant in a corner where it receives the most light.

I measured the lux with an app on my phone - lux is lumens per square meter, there's a formula to change it I'll just do it for you guys...

if you remember you want to get more than 2000 lumens per square foot (minimum for cannabis, you get stretchy plants), 5000 lumens is ok and the optimal is 8000 I think. Anything more and no additional benefit is seen, too much more and you burn the plants.

6-8am averages in the 2000 LUX range - dark - like very dark.... in lumens/ft that's like 200 which is dark. it will not survive on this lighting alone, small part of the day but important nonetheless.

When I took the pic above it was 1030am. I caught a patch of blue sky Direct sunlight hitting the plant.

There was a hole in a cloud, a patch of blue sky.... I measured the light intensity inside the glass at46000 LUX on the low end and 60000 lux on the high end. That translates to approx 4300-5400 lumens per square foot. so in broken clouds I can get good sunlight in there.

I was worried the area I as going to grow in was not bright enough - but with these measurements I am more confident that the plant will be relatively happy and healthy.

peace!

Recap: Jan 10-11 - Seed in germ, soil prep under way

Jan 13 - tap root visible, seed cracked, seed into the soil

Jan 16 - barely visible cotyledons- about cracking the soil

Jan 17 - cotyledons wide open, plant testing out it's daytime sitting area and it looks good.

For me this first bit is the most stressful because the plant is in soil you can't see shit, don't know if it'll come up, too deep, too shallow, too moist, too cold........ from here on out it's a marathon but at least you get to see the plant....

So I purchased the "nutes" I'll be using throughout the entirety of this grow.

I gave the soil 2 washes a few days before the sprout.

Wash# 1 was life juice - basically about a gallon of cow manure (semi-fresh), and water. Let the manure sit in water and stir it around to make a brown stinky life juice. That got poured into the soil.

Wash #2 was molasses and water - into the soil.

So that was the soil prep.

So I was looking at the different options and I obviously wanted to try to keep it 1) Simple 2) cheap and 3) as natural as possible.

I found concentrated worm casting liquid. But it doesn't have an NPK ratio per-se. It says - Guaranteed Composition in the front, with Grams per liter - but I'm not sure if the ratio is after it has been mixed or if htat's the guaranteed composition inside the bottle as is. What do you guys think it is? Anybody seen this 'Guaranteed Composition' in the front of anything? Any other nutrients come with a Grams Per litre deal?

Anyways the NPK ratio for the nutrient's I'll use this entire grow is 4-6-2. The nutes themselves on the label say feed once every 2 weeks, so I'll start it out at 1/8th strenth and move it up to 1/2 strength with weekly feedings until 14 days before harvest when I'll dial it down to 1/4 strength for one last feeding then plain water until harvest.

feel free to argue about it in the link below.

Found my journal back in the dustbin of page four...

anyways my plant has a mutation of some sort. after the cotyledons opened I thought it was weird I didn't see the first two leaves come out quick.... cannabis usually makes a 'cross' like thing at 2-3 days at the top with the two first leaves kind of growing quick and the plant stretches upward towards the light..... this one didn't look right...

i've sat on this all week, it's been bothering me but I held off on posting and today I took a look and yeah - this plant def has some sort of genetic issue.... it seems to be growing a 3rd cotyledon and is not stretching upward as cannabis usually does (light has been dim due to clouds)..... I know natural sunlight will make cannabis stay short and this is supposed to be 80% indica, but even indicas will stretch a bit... this one seems stumped.....

the 3rd cotyledon is also kind of a leaf/cotyledon hybrid mutant... I've began germing another one of these seeds and I'm not outright killing this one just yet - I want to see where it goes. I'm going to give it 1 full week since sprout which is tomorrow - and I'll post the pics in the discussion forum which I linked in my previous post....you guys can tell me what you think.....

Honestly if I wouldn't have bought and planted the seed myself I would not say this is a cannabis plant.

notice the two baby leaves have stretched upward, when the cannabis plants I've grown (~40ish in 10 years) always have the stem stretch upward. in lower light (it has been cloudy) cannabis would stretch up into the light looking for it, even leaning towards windows and stuff...

this could very well be another plant that was in the soil via the manure was I did, or just via normal seed dispersion via birds/animals since the soil sits outside under a torn up plastic tarp... - but I don't think so.

think this is a mutated cannabis plant and I'm going to keep it and see where it goes..... pics below.

I am not letting this thread die just yet.

I papertoweled the next seed as soon as I found the crime scene.

these are old seeds I mean paper towel on thursday - it is now monday and the taproot is just baarely visible. I'm going to give it all day today and all night. when the tap root is slightly longer than it was previously -

I'll put it in but this time I'm not being over-confident about it... not just jamming my finger in the soil like I've done soo many times.... I'm measuring a 3mm distance from the surface and that's it...

I also got a killer deal (20 USD) on a strain from Paradise Seeds in Holland called Durga Mata Feminized last week... they're going for ~20 a pack before shipping.... so I went for it.....It is mostly indica feminized small/stocky, with a mostly body relaxing effect.... I was also very pleasantly surprised that this is a good beginner strain.... which is always a good thing for casual growers like me, and I've only ever bought this type of seed - easy to grow, good for beginners, etc etc... the smoke is good and makes my life easier....

stay tuned things will be picking up this week or the next - peace!

So the taproot had reached the same point as last time and I decided to plant it....

Last time I buried the seed in dry soil, a little deeper than I usually do (I did it to the first 'fingerknuckle', not to the fingernail), and watered on top of that....

not sure why I did it that way but the result, as you may or may not know - was that an invader plant of unknown origin or species with seemingly aggressive growth patterns actually smothered my cannabis seed. a single root managed to tangle the seed and kept it underground. This invader is called Murder#1. I'm keeping it just to see what comes out. I really hope it is some sort of wildflower/daisy and not some vegetable...

Murder#1 is doing great by the way....

On to the "new plant"

I moistened and 'loosened' the soil before I put the seed in... meaning: I put water in the soil til I got runoff and stirred. if I found dry spots I sprayed some water in and kept stirring.....

by stirring it I got much more runoff to leave the medium than if I just water it down and leave it, and the entirety of the top layer of the soil ends up wet, but kind of loose and airy.... the bottom part still compacts somewhat-not as much as it would if I just pour water in - when you do that you get these soil 'boulders' that form in the soil and right now I don't want those, especially on top or too close to where I planted.... the top where the baby taproot will be planted remains nice and airy but still wet. I made a 5-10mm hole, seed goes in root facing down, and covered with the wet, but still kind of fluffy soil.

by doing it this way I don't have to pour water on the soil, or mist, or anything after covering the seed with soil.... the soil is already wet both on top and bottom of the seed. and it's lose and light and the plant can go ahead and push through it.... So I'm happy with how it's going for now....

On a side note the more my soil has sat unused the more I notice it is really not that great quality... I did incorporate some sand into it but it should've been more... I tried to get 10% in there but it's still clumpy... so I'm getting some perlite tomorrow to incorporate some. I think I'm going ~10% perlite for the 'final medium'. and I'm still doing a single transplant. I know I know I should put directly in the final container - sue me... :bigjoint::bigjoint:

the new attempt will sleep inside until I see the sprout.... and i honestly hope that shit where an unknown invader kills my plant doesn't happen again...

it was embarrassingly funny and annoying at the same time.....

I honestly forgot to take pictures and I promise I'm taking a timelapse video of the baby leaves opening this time... I'll turn it into a GIF and post it when the time comes...

happy growing.

I'm back. So I hadn't kept up with the journal and I apologize.

Boy oh boy has it been rough with these seeds, not going to lie I thought I'm never buying seeds here again they're all old and shitty and they don't work.

The seed above broke ground on Saturday morning, meaning I could see the white 'neck' if you will....

I had some errands to run and I had a movie date with the wife so I left the thing inside on my desk with the light on. left at 10am or so, came back in the evening fully expecting to see cotyledons and those two baby leaves ... well the thing was lying on the side, completely lifeless it seems..... the cotyledons and the two baby leaves where white. I was like what the hell - temperature inside my apt is in the 20s, humidity consistently around 50% (right now it is 22.3 C). I put a toothpick in the soil to help it up to try and get some light to the leaves see if some chlorophyll in there would jump start ot something - nothing.... that seedling died...

I don't really know what happened. I'm going to call it a mix of bad luck with bad soil..... out of 4 seeds one was murdered and the other one died for unknown reasons....

I threw my last two remaining seeds into germ and only one popped.....

the other one is still in the papertowel but I don't have much faith (it's a 3 pack with 4 seeds, this last one is thin and looks incredibly frail.... like they threw it in there b/c they knew it wouldn't pop) 11th day would be on wednesday or something which is on the long end of a germ......

but I think it'll be a dud as it already smells rotten inside....

The one that popped showed the neck this morning and is already standing up. I messed up the time lapse I was going to do it with my go-pro which does a decent job but I set it up way too close and it came out blurry... sorry I'll do it again next time lol....

I am sure this one's cannabis with the tell-tale cross shape with the cotyledons and baby leaves. Here's the pictures..... The Northern Delights is in a starter pot which will be moved to the final pot which is right below it.

There's pics of our basil pot too, prob the best tasting leafy thing you can grow in your own home.... My wife messed up and put a bunch of plants in one pot so we'll have baby basil this time I want to grow a large basi tree as the smell is wonderful and you get much more leaves out of it. We eat a lot of basil here lol.......

I still have no idea what Murder1 is so if anybody has any botanist knowledge on here and wants to chime in - do so in the discussion linked below.

So the 'palm tree' is stretching nicely.

I went ahead and started a DurgaMata seed as well and it is peeking through the soil already so I'll have 2 plants on that table.

This really shows how old the ND seeds were. It took them 5 days to pop, one extra day for the taproot to kind of show and took a few days to pop the surface...

The Durga Mata seed popped in a few hours, tap root was long enough to plant within 1 day and 3 days later is ready to pop out of the seed and become a nice seedling. I'll post the DM photo once it breaks ground.

I also just learned that you can make a good calcium supplement from a single eggshell.

You dry it off in the oven or in the sun - and you soak it in white vinegar.

The white vinegar breaks + eggshells breaks down into Calcium + Carbon Dioxide + wate + trace elements.

No need to purchase Cal-Mag supplements that don't work for anything else.... I keep epsom salt at home for after futbol sometimes my ankles hurt. This is a sustainable solution - using/re-using what I already have for the garden is pretty cool.

Happy growing.

So the Durga Mata Seed came out and the seed was still on the head of the damn thing.

Literally like 4mm off the ground. So I broke off the seed(I've done it before, where the seed doesn't completely come off, but this one was like clamped on the thing)

I broke off one side of the shell yesterday, and a few minutes ago I noticed the other one had fallen off - but no opening of cotyledons no nothing....

It's like a damn brown headed sperm sticking out of the ground. No idea what to do or if it's normal. First time I've seen it this way in quite a few years..... the stem seems to be a bright green color but this weird looking head thing is tripping me out. Will it fall off on it's own? In the past when I remove one side of the seed shell the thing opens up in a few hours. this time I havea brown headed mutant growing....

shit's weird man.....

On to the actual topic at hand. The Northern Delight.

Ok so week 2 of the ND starts tomorrow officially, and with that I start the weaning in of the nutes.

Here's the lady in question - she's still a small plant but since it's an auto it starts taking off and before you know it it's all big and it becomes a pain in the ass.

I'm going to use Liquified Worm Humus this whole grow - Very affordable locally, and one thing I like is it has low PPM rating if used as followed on the label - of course I'm going to change up the dilution.

EC on the label is 0.42 DS/M - which means that at their suggested dilution of 1:200 I get about 215 or so PPMs if using RO water. But they use pure crystal clear RO/Distilled water for the solution, per the local testing standard. I'm not. I let my tap water stand to offgas the chlorine and that's it. Every CC of this feed I put into the mix adds 43ppms approx.

Local water fluctuates - but it's generally hard around 130PPMs (I actually measured less than 100ppms at one point, one of my friends is a Environmental Engineer and he does have TDS meter and I've taken a few samples along when I go to his house, I settled at 130 as acceptable and he agrees) yeah it's on the harder side whatever, welcome to the 3rd world - hope you don't mind the chlorine smell.

I'm feeding every 6 days from tomorrow, beginning of week 2 - til the end of the grow. Since it is worm humus it won't affect my taste too much if I feed til the last day.

With that in mind - I'm aiming for over 1000 PPms at full strength and since this is an auto Label says 70 day grow cycle, I'm projecting approx 90 days total grow cycle. That means that I am going to get anywhere from 12-14 feedings, maybe as high as 16, but who knows right now. I am also fully expecting to need to up the nute ratio as the plant enters flowering. But for now this is a good model to work off of, and that way I can set my calendar to the required dates.

Here is the schedule:

I can be as prepared as I can, with the minutae of ratios down to as precise measurements as I can. But only the plant can tell me what it wants.

Happy Growing.

So today I fed - at the PPM I planned on the above the mix looked too dark.... I didn't like it, I thought it was too dark, it's just a gut feeling....

I bumped it to 700PPM and fed it to the basil plants.... they were in need of a feeding....

For the Cannabis I went 1/4 of what I said I would do. Since the majority of the PPMs come from the water at this point I ballparked 170-190PPMs this first feeding.....

since the plant is so small I wanted this first introduction to nutrients to be dirty water, not a REAL feed solution if you know what I mean... and at the level I used it was just that - dirty water....

that was about 5 hours ago and she perked up nicely. I'm not spraying the leaves or anything just yet, no mist.... so if you want to start feeding early it's doable - just remember to start light - really light.... dirty water if you will......

I also ordered some PH strips, the paper ones for one dollar for 100 tests. Should arrive today, maybe tomorrow.... I need to test my solutions....

The liquified worm hummus says that at 1:200 dilution it gets PH to 5.7-6.0 in RO water - so I want to know how it affects the PH at higher dilutions and if I need to adjust accordingly. I've used the strips and pool drops to ballpark PH forever and since I work in soil it doesn't need to be 100% exact.

This plant is being transplanted start of week 3 (so next week) into the final home with approx 18 Litres of the same soil it is in now, but with about 20% fine sand from the farm to help percolate a bit, and enhanced with micorizza spores a couple of 'needle tips' of spores mixed all around where the plant is going a few inches deep, and more 'needle tips' all around the soil..... that should get a colony going in the root system...... I can't spell that shit in english or spanish so whatever..... A local supplier sells a KG of spores for like 80 cents and I'm headed that way now....

Hey guys.

So day 1 of the cotyledons opening was Feb 7.

Feb 7-14 = Week 1.
Feb15-21 = Week 2.
Feb 22-28= Week 3.

This is my timekeeping method -

Per everything I've heard week 3 is when these auto's really start just shooting up- so I want to move to the final pot around this time I think this plant the last 2-3 days has grown incredibly fast so the growth burst might already be happening.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a feed day per my 6-day schedule but I'm going to go ahead and move to the final pot instead and feed one day after. The soil needs to be on the dryer side for a transplant to be easier - it's a dry soil for the soil that's moving pots, and slightly moist for the soil the plant is moving into - it makes it easier I think.

The plant has grown nicely but I don't have full 18 hours of light, so it's not as big as others on the journals on this site, but I'm happy with where it is. (I lose 3.5 hours per day to shadows and those 3 hours are 'indirect light') I'm not planning on doing anything about hte light - not buying a tent, not supplementing- for the moment.

I'll post a pic tomorrow of the large pot with the baby in it.

So I tried to transplant and there's just not enough root mass yet so I'll wait another week.

It felt like I was about to rip out, and it should be a feeling that the soil with root mass just ind of falls out of the planter/solocup, whatever... there's a feeling to it that you just know when it's ready and this one still needs a bit more time. I did stress her a bit trying to get it to fall out I hope nothing is damaged I'll look at it later today.

I fed her (approx 330-340 PPMs) and top dressed with regular soil to shorten the stem length a bit.

sorry no pic of the plant in her new home yet.
