Sizing / Specing drip irrigation

All you need to do is put a pressure tank on with your “RV” pressure pump. I use one with a 275 gallon tote at a remote off grid site for water/nutes. There is a particulate strainer before the pressure pump, the pump pressurizes a small pressure tank, 2 gallons I think, it then goes to another particulate filter and then a carbon filter before it hits my irrigation tubing. I’m using Blumat rather than Netafin in my hoophouse but do use netafim in my raised bed veg garden. Good stuff.
Thanks for that. I remember overhearing this alternative setup (to a "proper jet pump style pump") mentioned part of a gml show I was trying to skim through for useful information.
What exactly are they called, pump pressure tank, accumulation tank?

I’ll bull a couple links together for you. very simple setup, works great, I had 25 trees In the hoop last summer, worked great. Keep a spare pump on hand in case you run your reservoir dry, ask how I know...

I don’t know how to post a link to Amazon. Anyway, do a search for 2 gallon Accumulator tank, with wall mount, 1/2” NPT. That is the tank, you can buy the pre-particulate filter here as well.

This is the pump that I use.

Also, something else to explore. Check out blumat carrots. I don’t use regular drip hose in my hoophouse, as long as your running 1/2” supply lines you should be good to go. Do not run any organics In a drip system, my experience anyway.

Ah, I see what you're saying. I need to add up the flow rate of *all* the individual drip emitters, haha. Ok.

Btw, so you use PC dripper setup for your grow? Have many successful grows using these netafim drippers (or others)? I'm curious if you've ever had clogging of drippers or tubing, from salt buildup - or *anything else*?
yes i use the PCJCNL 4liters/hour in a top fed nft setup, with biofilter in the reservoir. i recover condensation from AC and dehu, it drip directly to my res. perfect to use with benneficials like i do (i mycorize my rockwool)

house garden drip clean is a must if you use PC drippers, even more if you use hard water. 1mL per 10 liter will keep drippers very clean

i buy it by 250mL directly on house garden webshop

I use Jacks right now.
I don't wanna use blumats though, I don't trust them for anything but plain water, just from what I read long ago.

Ok, so reading this, I see more the style of pump you're recommending. The example they give is an ecoplus brand, I check the link for it on their site: $675 CAD, hahaha.
So, maybe I need to be searching for "Jet Pumps", or "irrigation Jet Pumps".
no need for a one so expensive. the one is use cost 80euro, husqvarna motor. "gardena 3000/4"

but i would be curious to see if i can find another one, more expensive, that can do the job quieter.

for 600dollar it must be a big ass pump

I haven't, not really. But partly because of indecisiveness, and the other due to cost. I've got something set up, for the moment, but it's not what I'd have liked, or planned. But their whole setup, at least this run, is not well planned - it just had to be done.

Also, I keep having rdwc pop into my mind, which is pretty easy, but does present it's own challenges... or costs I should say.

Fuckin' hand watering rockwool. Soul sapping.

I was shopping for prices as well as parts , now im so overwhelmed with everything , i dont even care about cost anymore , i just need a setup. I went to the local hydro store and it was just too much thinking without a list of parts...
Hand watering rockwool has to suck badly.

get some PC drippers, a tool to pierce the hoses at the right diameter(3x5mm, 4x6mm etc..), 3/4 LDPE hose for the main line, one anti return valve, a good pump, a filter(optionnal), some plasson fittings and you're good to go
