skinny stalk and branches?

hey folks, had a query for you.

I bought some skinny stalked clones and they haven't really thickened up much since I've had em here. they look taller than they are bushy.

given the stalk and branches are the artery to get these girls fed, I'm wondering if there's anything I can be doing, or if this is a sign that something is missing? tried googling and researching this first but was unable to come up with anything.

I also put a uv protected lens against my phones camera this time so hopefully it helps you see wtf is going on.

Trimming the crap out of the plant is what I do in those situations. Cutting at the closest nod to the stalk and of course topping it as far down as possible. The more it boots for regrowth the more it thickens up. Problem is it set's veg time back by weeks and will leave you with insane roots by the time you're happy enough to flower them.

While some strains are naturally thin, most start off that way due to the choice of cuttings used, and can be exploited.

thanks dude. appreciate the reply as always. I hear you on cutting way back but I think I'm past the point of no return unless I want them to sit in that tiny ass tote forever. I'll keep it in mind for future runs though.

I'm about to flip them in a week or so. The cramping is out of control and they're badly fighting for light. they're all about the same height now though thanks to topping and explosive recent growth from all the laggards. so I just need to do this and then space them out better next go round.

How far is the light from the canopy, how many watts is the LED. Do you have a healthy root system. Just looking at the pic I would say your light is to far from the canopy. It looks like they've stretching towards the light. Can we get pics of roots , light height etc.

I agree.....plants are reaching for more light. Depends on the strain too- some plants need/want more light than others........
