How big is your grow space?
I'm an auto grower, I use a basic quantum board 135w and pull around 160g. So yield can be good, but I'd say take the given time (normally 90 days ish) with a pinch of salt...add on another 2 weeks.
Good luck man!
(measured with a tailor's tape measure but still the same haha)
width - 40in
length- 60in
height- 90in (7.9ft)
In the link above on this page from Star Dog is a 600w HPS, that's the light i'll be using, i'm afraid i can't comment on your set up as i don't know exactly what you mean. There's a possibility i could extend the length if i can somehow find enough room elsewhere to store some gigantic speaker cabs, but i'm not sure if there's any point as i'm not certain a 600w would reach all the plants.
Thanks for the encouragement!

Generally a 600w is used in a 4x4 tent, I use my 600w in a 5x5.

I'm quite happy with the buds at the farthest points from the light.

As far from the light as It can get.

Idk who came up with 4x4 but I don't agree with it.

Edit... they 32w bulbs are good for seedlings and clones, I've never used them personally though.

I use 100w of fluorescent and they're good for 4 bushy 8/10" inch plants.

Cheers, i'd be overjoyed with that!
These are the present measurements
width - 40in
length- 60in
height- 90in (7.9ft)
I might be able to extend the length to 110in, and judging by your 5x5 i think the 600w should reach far enough. How many auto's would you try with this space light if i may ask?
Cheers!

That light will be good for roughly 50x50" you could maybe coax a bit more but 50x50" is good guide for you.

I've never grown auto's before I'm not familiar with the traits, I'm sure someone will be able to help though?

Saving for compost could add months to an actual grow, besides, B&Q will be where i'll be getting it from as it's the only place on the bus route. I had no problems with the same stuff last time except a bit of bud rot, but i think i may have over-watered them once and that was probably the cause. Now i'm not certain what to do.
I'll be using one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/284250025080?mkevt=1&mkpid=2&emsid=e112358.m43.l1123&mkcid=8&bu=44022027194&osub=-1~1&segname=16TE179832_T_PREPURCHASE_CT2&crd=20210522090000&ch=osgood&sojTags=osub=osub,segname=segname,crd=crd,ch=ch,chnl=mkcid
Thanks.
B&Q sell Jack's Magic too. It is 15p a bag more expensive that B&Q's own brand and way better, it is a far superior product.

Cheers mate, your help is genuinely appreciated.
I'm off to save for seeds and compost now, every carbon filter i've looked at cost's a lot but eventually i'll need one.
It's looking like i might be ready to grow in about three months inc' carbon filter, you have to pay the longer game when you're not flush.
Thanks again.

Check out flebay for 2nd hand gear there's some real bargains to be had, there's also a shop in the UK that does 2nd hand gear, I can't remember the name of it but I'm sure Google will take you to it.

6 plants in #5 pots would be a decent run in that space.

You got a Venmo or some cash transferring app? I’ll donate to your cause sir
Thank you very kindly!
I've not got Venmo (i think you may both have to live in the u.s. for that), but a tech savvy schoolmate of my little girl is going to set up a bitcoin wallet for me soon.
Thank you very much, it truly is very much appreciated.

Please don’t forget that a carbon filter by itself does nothing.

it needs a centrifugal inline extraction fan to run it such as SYSTEMAIR RVK fan.

the filter works by connecting to a fan and allowing the fan to suck the smelly air through the carbon filter which then exhausts out of the fan and away from the grow area using ducting.

flebay dot com domain is for sale so i'm not sure what you mean, but judging by ebay brand new prices for a good carbon filter/extractor fan it'll be much longer than i thought before i can get cracking.
I'll have a nose about for that u.k. shop.
Cheers mate!

I've got a 5" systemair but I wouldn't know how to get it to Mahatma with anonymity?
Thanks.
You can trust me to keep schtum but i don't blame you for not trusting. The bloke who recommended this forum is Jack, i don't know if you got to know him (he doesn't seem to have posted on here for yonks) but i've stayed at his house with my family and he'll vouch for me, He really knows his stuff on lighting e.t.c. I don't know if you can send personal messages on here, but i could give you my address and pay you for the p&p costs via pay-pal, if that suits you?
Thanks again.

Is there anyone on here with experience with or knowledge of auto-flowering plants and the best places to get seeds on a budget (if possible) please? It's not like i haven't been searching, but these outfits make their living selling what they advertise so i thought it'd be wise to ask some financially neutral people who know what they're talking about to weigh in, if i may?

I'm growing for myself so i really need to be growing good painkillers/relaxants, ideally mostly Indica with both high yield and THC, but am aware not everything can be ideal. Quick yielding aside, the more i learn about auto's the more off-putting it gets, but i have no tent meaning i have no choice and decent auto' seeds don't come cheap, therefore, being on a tight budget, i must choose wisely (i'm in the u.k.).

As always, grateful for any guidance offered.
I pay far too much for medicine as it is, i've got a 600w HPS and the sooner i can crack on with a worthwhile grow, the better.

Cheers!

Nirvana are about the cheapest eg €25 for 5, something like the blueberry kush would be a heavy hitting indica which is what you want from what you say...
