that and also my personal experience suggests it's not a strain, just some phenos and common perceptions...look at what pegboy said. that is how a lot of people percieve it. It's just a passing smell from someone else's smoke most of the time. a lot of dispos smell of roadkill skunk when I am outside the shop, but they don't sell anything that smell like rks to me once i am inside. the thiols, etc. and smells generally, work on a level of concentration. too high it's smells like something else, too low it smells like something else. i have never seen anything but a cut produce rks consistently. my folks think everything they smelled since 1980 is rks. it's a bitch trying to get weed for them (or weed I can use around them)...durban fit the bill well, it's not the least bit skunky. i was chiefing on some red hot cookies the other day, mostly tangie in the pheno. it doesn't smell like skunks at all to me...i smoked a j and came back into the garage and I would have totally got in trouble as a kid for the skunk smells. it was strong....it doesn't smell like skunk at all in the jar.

Think its a double edged sword yes back in the day more weed was "skunky" but more things had skunk in them as well and as for rks well thats a different thing never seen it lab tested so who knows i do however think thiols and some other stuff was more common in weed from back in the day vs most modern lines and over time its been selected away

@Splinter7 is correct. There were definitely variants of the skunk. One of them was a blueberry skunk. In fact, that was the best one, in my opinion. Regardless of the variants, though, they ALL were extremely pungent.

Anyone who has ever driven along a highway on a summer night has probably driven past an area where a skunk has been run over and is laying on the shoulder of the road. You start to smell it from literally a mile away....and then it gets stronger....and STRONGER...and then, eventually after about ten more minutes of driving and airing out the car, it starts to go away. THAT smell was very similar to the skunk that us old timers speak of. There wasn't anything lemony or piney. I can't make any claims as to THC content or cannabinoids or anything thing else.....other than to concur that the smell was maybe a thousand times skunkier than the skunkiest thing around, today. Although, I don't doubt that some home growers still have it ....but they just aren't the type of people who give one fuck about getting it to market or making anything of it. Too bad for us, the general public.

The rks skunk is what gave me that ability to not want to vomit from a dead skunk.

To this day when I pass a roadkill skunk I take a deep sniff and fond memories of yesteryear appear in my thoughts. haha

did your blueberry skunk come in bricks? like, very thin sheets because there weren't too many seeds? did it have blue on it?

Everything came in bales...or bricks. Everything was smashed flat, usually. Everything was untrimmed, full of seeds...but I remember was sticky, too. It was divided up into equal parts into plastic baggies...not always an ounce....We measured by fingers. A four-finger bag was a good one. When you opened the baggy, the sides would peel away from the weed inside. It was all like a clump. Looking back on it, it was likely just a matter of what time of year it came in. If it was harvested early, then we got the hay-smelling ditchweed. But, if we got it at a time when all the plants were fully ripe, then we got the skunk.

got some less smashed stuff a few times. this source that ran to the valley was really good. the stuff with few seeds was really small. bricks were small in size. and ounce was like a stack of 30 sheets of paper and was pretty moist moist. lots of ammonia. red hair, no red hair. though most of what i am thinking about wasn't red hair. had a summer of seeds. same weed, all summer, all seeds. had another where the price of mids (shwag, pretendica) was higher than decent kind bud....that was wild.

worse...i took a trip to vancouver for a wedding a long time ago. i couldn't find any bud, but i smelled skunks all weekend. anyway, was walking down this alley street to get to dinner and low and behold, a real live skunk. I swear i had been smelling weed all weekend. i was so pissed about how dank that vancouver bud was. and, in the end i might have just been a real skunk the whole time. i'll never know.

Last time I had a killer skunk was when I bought a q of Massachusetts Super Skunk back in 2004, I havent seen it around since but I also live farther away. Im sure you can get the Mass Super Skunk still in the northeast. Im sure there are other cuts floating around out there too,. As far as seeds go I havent been able to find anything yet.

Didn't. Lots of skunk cannabis waiting to have the doterra bred out of it. People just can't help themselves and select unpure, anything new to them they seem to think has value. Avoid all cannabis breeders who have used the phrase "unique terps" in their career.

Those with an interest in breeding seed aren't the ones interested in selling it.

I went on a cruise out of NYC in May, and there was some old dude puffing a joint and walking back and fourth on an outdoors stern deck, and me and my buddy were both like, damn, did you smell that skunk? We were hitting vape pens out there ourselves. If I could have a do over I would ask him where/ what / when can I get some!! It sure smelled of old school skunk!!

The last time I had real skunk was back in the early 2010s. This was back in Northern VA. It was called "OG"by the dealer, always the same exact strain/pheno. Straight road kill skunk, fucking loved that strain.

I'm tempted to give purple caper's skunk line a try. Currently running their krippy kush, hoping there's some funk.

Still have the old skunk in south east Kentucky. I ran the old Afghan Skunk a few months ago and it definitely had the strong skunkspray but the purple ky Afghani that was used in that cross came through too much in the end and it turned out skunk and sweet. But it's a more acrid sweet. I just got the nerve to pop some of the pure skunk recently and I got 5 out of 18 beans to germ... Been sitting on these for a long ass time. Still have several beans put back in case I don't find what I'm looking for in those 5.

Hello! This sounds amazing, I’ve been reading up on your past posts. Since 2020 have you found the skunk or are you still continuously hunting. I’m glad you got some of these beans to pop and I hope you find what you’re looking for
