Slow growing seedlings, mushrooms in soil

Hey I have some seedlings that have been growing pretty slowly. They are 12 days old, medium is some organic potting mix I had sitting around (Kellog I think) with 25-30% of peat and perlite added. Just looking for feedback on how to make these girls take off. Also, there are some sort of mushrooms showing up (see picture near the haze marker). Lights are 200 watts of burple. Temp 77, humidity 50 ( thinking of putting some water bottles on top for a humidity dome.

50% humidity isnt your issue.

Not sure about LEDs but they dont look too stretched or light burnt to me, so id say lights are fine.

Overwatering a little maybe? A little early but no signs of deficiencies that i can see so cant be too bad.

Id repot them into something decent if it were me. Id say thats where your problem lies.
Good luck!!

What potting mix do you use for seedlings?

I’ve Been playing with the middle road while working on my growing skills. Trying to decide between going full on organic soil, or straight hydro.

I grew in soil for years. I love hydro, i seem to get more consistent results. Yield went up tremendously and quality the same if not better. I personally would only go soil again if i was going 100% organic for flavour and actually knowing whats in the plants your smoking.
Once you get the hang of hydro its so easy. Dont have to worry about over/under watering.

I use advanced nutrients ph perfect and if my containers are big enough then i can pretty much forget about them for a week at a time! 8-)

Is there drainage in your cups? The soil looks real dark in the pictures, you could easily be over watering them.

I started these guys in 1.5 qt containers. I think next time I am going for a standard pint sized solo cup

I would agree with the over watering. Quit watering until they are dry and they will respond.

Looks like the consensus is overwatering, I will make sure we let them get a little more thirsty between drinks and see if we can water a little more sparingly 2-3 oz at a time.

Amnesia Haze: she’s browning up on the leaf tips a little. Probably from overwatering, I don’t think it is light burn.

Go soil. Your description of your skills presently indicates this. Learn about the plant. Watch it. In hydro it can go to hell overnight. Not with soil. Once you know more about the growing cycle and deficiencies or excesses with nutrients then experiment with hydro.

Gave them each 1oz of water today, really trying to get these turned around. Any suggestions??
Transplant into half gallon containers with really good drainage. Remove from the cup and place it in the container and fill around it with DRY medium. The wet plug will keep it well watered.

Then every day pick it up. You’ll know when it really is getting dry and not just lighter. Then water slowly. Slowly around the container. Slowly. Until you see some dripping. The main water roots are the lowest. Overwatering basically suffocates the upper root zone which is most responsible for oxygen uptake by the roots and yes they do take it up.

Buy a bag of bamboo barbecue skewers. These are your friend. Regularly cultivate the medium including piercing all the way to the bottom. Including the root mass under the plant! Important. Do this before watering each time. Love those roots and work with growing kickass roots. Those will grow your kickass plants.
