Slow Growth and Purple stems

I’ve been growing outdoor for a while but I have made a switch to indoors recently and am unsure if I’m running into issues.
My grow is in my closet which is 2.5 feet deep by 4 feet wide by 7 feet high. 3 clones all the same phenotype of Purple Afghan Kush by Dina Fem.
The clones are roughly 1 month old not including propagation time. They are under 2 foot four tube T5. The closet has positive pressure with my intake fan 185 cfm pulling from the bottom of the closet door from the room the closet is in. I usually keep my window in the room cracked to keep cool fresh air coming in. Today is the first day I checked my ambient room temps and placing a hygrometer right by my intake I had 64 degrees Fahrenheit for an intake reading. My humidity is a bit all over the place but for the most part I’m between 50 and 70 percent with my canopy temps going from 70 degrees at there lowest and 81 as there high. The clones are in 1 gallon or slightly smaller containers in roots organic original with great white. Since transplanting I’ve given them super thrive and pro tech with every watering at half strength.
yesterday I top dressed each container with 1 cup ewc/ 1/2 tsp insect frass / 1/2 tsp Alf Alfa meal / 1/2 tsp kelp meal /additional great white and 1/4 cup roots original mixed together and watered in pro tech and super thrive half strength.
I have not done a ph run off check yet
But my solution in is 6.4-6.6 thus far.

I’m not running co2.
I’m running a 24 hour light cycle

my stems have spots that are solid purple toward the bottom while new growth has purple striping.
the clones got off to a terrible start in the rapid rooters and I’m lucky I save the genetic at all. They were completely purple when they came out of the rapid rooters.... but the issue persists.
Growth is overall fairly slow and lacking vigor especially over the last week as I am not seeing praying.
volume of eater per irrigation is roughly 200-300 mls.
Also I’ve been using Poland springs water.
ppm of 50 I was fearful of my tap at 200 ppm.

ive read plenty of different opinions from mag deficiency( may make sense giving my water source and no supplementation) cold temps and swings of more than 15 degrees.( could make sense as it seems my max swing is about 15 degrees in temp and my intake is64 today but I know there’s been days where it’s much cooler say 55 degrees)
Ph (it’s possible although this is where’d I’d run outside in soil 6.4-6.6)
Maybe someone who’s run this strain before indoors can shine some light.
I will note stems are still very pliable and not rigid

if it is environmental or even if it’s not how can I control my temps and humidity while working 40 plus hours a week in another garden lol?
Titan eos for humidity?
What about for temps in such a smalll closet!
lets talk about purple stems! Happy new year! If I left out any details let me know

Low temps. I use a couple very simple but very integral things for this. Ink bird humidity and temp controllers are a cheap investment but will help you a LOT. I set them up with a space heater and a simple humidifier (the small ones are a pain in the ass due to having to refill sometimes twice daily). Also if I was you I would look in to sub irrigated planters. There is a forum on here for SIPs they are foolproof and perfect for the grower with a lot to do!

Low temps roger that of all possibilities I feel like this makes the most sense given the nature of my intake. I’m going to check out ink bird controllers.
The sub irrigation is a technique I’m familiar with and will possibly use in the future this closet is just to preserve genetics and take cuts for a bigger space I’m building out in the next couple months.... I’m going to raise temp of my intake and see how things look during the next dry cycle.

Looks like they've been stressed quite a bit for a decent amount of time. I had the same purpleing on my first plants I tried to grow. You also have a bit of odd growth patterns.

It sounds like you've got them under control now. I think if you just give them good consistency for a week or two you will see the purple start to recede. (If it is stress related).

Might want to keep an eye on your temp swings. From what I've seen, they don't really like more of a +/- 10F mix/max.

Best of luck and hope it all works out.

Right on thanks
They have been stressed without a doubt for a prolonged time I guess so mostly to my environment .
I’m smoking some now and gunna go do a full make over on my closet
New humidifier with bigger res and a humistat
I’m adding 6 hour dark period
I’m adding small space heater with thermostat for night time temp drops
I’m gunna try to avoid having the window open and subjecting girls to cold intake
Work castings tea next watering.....
Unless I see mag issues then I’ll get some magnesium sulfate......
Bummin for my ladies hope I can turn it around

im growing dinafems PAK , just hittin 4 weeks in flower. of the 2 phenos i have, 1 is narrow leaves { purple kush pheno } , lotsa purple in the stems and more spreading to the fan leaf veins as it ages . My second pheno has fatter fan leaves { like yours } and less purple so far. it seems to have the purple stripes { like your pics } on the stalks and fan stems, i suspect its the pre-98 bubba kush pheno. umm from what i understand its suppose to be a purple plant , change in temps do bring out purple in any/most plants that get 15ish drops in temp , usually. it would be a good idea not to drop your temps so low in veg , i would save the cooler temps for flowering. good luck !

So dope to finally get a response from someone who IS growing the PAK. Yes over the last week I have kept temps and humidity more consistent. Today my high of 81 low of 77 high 55%low of 48% and things have not improved. Plants are growing at a reasonable rate but there lacking vigor and just yesterday I did get an onset of what I believe to be traditional signs of mag def. I watered in camg just this evening so I’ll know more in the next couple days here’s a photo I took a few days ago when I was thinking I saw interveinal light colors. I’m aware it is a purple genetic but the degree of purple I have is not quite right in my opinion. I’ve had plants do this but they always come out of it when there really growing. Have you noticed your PAK praying? Mine haven’t in a few weeks. 24/7 veg t5. Maybe you’ve noticed how they respond to 24/7 cycle

I’m growing a bubba kush. When I see those twisted kinda crinkled leaves it’s ph or food to high. My bubba lives at half the ppm compared to my other plants. I’m in coco and rdwc. Purple will go away also once they start being happy. Good luck. I’ll shoot ya a pic.

with the research ive done on PAK , cool/cooler air will result in some purple-ing. now , from what i see with your fan leaf i do see a darker green than i see here on mine so @myke could be exactly right on your problem. cut your nutes by a third and your watering as well , i do know they like it a little bit cooler , a little bit less nutes and a bit dryer than most strains. if you do find it works out better than before let me know please, this is my 1st of many runs of this strain and i need all the help i can get too , lol , thanx !

sorry I for some reason thought you were doing hydro when you said your roots were white.

I wonder how cold your soil is though. Perhaps insulating the pots would help, the roots like to be 62-68F in hydro and 65-70 in soil

keep your intake 65-70 during the 6 hour off cycle and 70-80 during the on cycle, the roots should thrive and the foliage will take off

you might want to use a measuring tape and see if you could buy a tent that can fit in the closet too then you can unhinge the door and have a real intake / exhause. if that is just pulling from the crack of the door with it shut, thats a huge restriction. Leaving the window open is just a waste of energy IMO shut the window and fix the ventilation issue

oh wait I didnt see your cracking the window.. no need for that if the intake is too cold. Your house leaks enough air to give your plants, as long as the area its in circulates to the rest of your house

when watering it is ideal to match the water temperature with the soil temp

Ya right on for the help this turned into a great thread and has been very helpful.

I agree with yourpoint about fixing the exhaust problem and leaving the window closed ( it would be nice to not have the window open cold as shit) and possibly I will look for a tent orpossibly engineer a tent like door with intake. This would be nice. This spacestarted asa spot just to veg things up and take clones for a larger room I’m building but I’m liking it and may finish some plants in here with an led.
I digress....
Plant update: my ladies are praying and there vigor has resumed 32 hours post camg. Purple stems are slowly clearing up.
Ive gotten pretty good at diagnosing issues over the years and I’m proud of myself anytime it’s this easy to connect the dots based on the information I have. Fortunately I keep great notes and I think all farmers should to run efficiently.

My soil temps at the bottom are 68-70 and I do try and mirror that temp for my waterings.

in regards to feeding,

I took clones using clones gel.
When clones rooted they were in TERRIBLE shape and really thought I was going to lose the genetic.
Very weak start.
From there rapid rooters they went into roots original 1 gallons. Great white.
they have been watered 7-8 times now with only superthrive and protech. Soft bottled water ( I fucked up) they’ve had one ☝worm castings tea as well.
plants were top dressed 1/2 tsp Alf Alfa meal 1/2 teaspoon kelp meal 1/2 teaspoon insect frass 1 cup worm castings 1/2 cup roots original end of week 4.
Camg Botanicare beginning of week 5
Today mid week 5 and vigor has resumed.
Runoff check on camg day inflow was 250 ppm at 6.5 outflow was 6.5 850.
It’s almost time to do a nice top dress before transplanting to 3 or 5 gallon containers haven’t decided yet.
I hope I addressed everything but ya things have greatly improved and I will throw a photo up soon

Myke your bubba looks bubbaliacious
Good on ya!
About 32 hours ago I watered in camg at 250 ppm
Inflow 6.5 250 outflow 6.5 850.
I should mention in regards to food these clones came out of rapid rooters looking really bad. They went into 1 gallon containers of roots organic original w/ great white. Today is week 5 day 2 in those same containers. Mid week 5 top dress 1/2 tsp aa meal 1/2 tsp kelp meal 1/2 tsp insect frass 1 cup EWC 1/2 cup roots original. There was 1 ewc tea before top dress and watering with pro tech and superthrive just about every watering until now.
Probably one more watering before a nice well rounded top dress or nute feed then a transplant.
Where would you like to see your ppm before feed on a light feeder like this?
850? 450? 0?
Blessings and happy new year!
I will post photos soon

Absolutely will let you know what’s working for me!
This strain is fire so we’d better get it dialed!
The camg really turned my plants vigor back on quickly.
So no nutes so far.
really shitty starts from rapid rooters into roots original soil w/ great white.
super thrive and protech with every wateringto this point with 1 compost ewc tea mid week 4 I believe and a top dress end of week 4 1/2 tsp Alf Alfa meal 1/2 tsp kelp meal 1/2 tsp insect frass 1 cup ewc 1/2 cup roots original /great white
Today is week 5 day 2 in the closet in the 1 gallons with not much supplemental nutes. If any really.
Last watering I did get my first chance to get some run off information....
Inflow 6.5 250 outflow 6.5 850 so I’m thinking I’m going to continue with camg but wait one more watering two at the most before bringing in a nice topdresss or some bottle food.
Damn I really gave all responses about 6 minutes of my life just now.
lighting .......joint..........now.....
Blessings and thanks
