Slow seedling growth

I would like to point out that I'm a newbie so please bare with me


I'm having trouble getting my seeds to crack the surface
I have started germination using the wet towel method and as soon as they cracked open I transferred them to jeffiy peat pellets (about a week ago)

I water them once every 2-3 days with bottled water PH 6.5
Room temp is usually between 25-28 C however I still can't see any of them above the surface!!!

So I keep on checking on the seeds and I do notice growth in the tap root however it's really slow.

Is there something wrong with my method or is it that I am rushing into it???

Probably overwatering...

Just keep the peat from drying out, don't saturate it. They probably only need a few drops of water a day to keep from drying out. I literally water in terms of drops at that stage.

Also, stop checking the taproot! You could very well be stunting the growth every time you dig around to see if anything has happened.

Don't kill them with kindness.

Hopefully that helps a bit. After a couple times it'll be a breeze!

Probably what a senile fungus said but I know when I first started germing and planting seeds I was planting them too deep. Too deep and they'll take forever to break the surface. Germination mats help speed things up too if the soil is cold but your room temp looks good. Hope you see some little sprouts soon, good luck!

So far I have stopped watering them to give the peat pellets a chance to dry out hopefully I'll be seeing a few sprouts shortly if everything goes well

Shouldn't need to water the medium before they pop. Just make sure it's damp when you put the germed seed in.
