So I have an 8X8 room, using a 600 watt lamp, and every grow the buds look real nice while growing, but by the time theyre dry theyre really small and airy, like no real bud structure.

I run a de-humidifier, use proper nutrient regiment etc. I just bought a co2 tank, but have yet to use it, will that help?

I never have this problem outside, which leads me to believe that maybe I should be lowering the temperature of the room via air conditioner the last couple weeks of flowering the immitate the climate outdoors.

Any replys would be greatly appretiated.

Rule of thumb: At least 50 watts per square feet of growing space. You have 9.3 watts per square feet. Kinda like putting your plants by a window. A tinted one at that.

On second thought, are you growing on a table directly under the light? I grow six plants at a time using a 600 watt bulb and ballast in a space that is 2.5' x 3' and harvest at least eight ounces of beautiful bud every time, just missing a pound on my best effort. I'm only counting usable, quality bud here too, not shake.

Cool, I have another light, same one, and a smaller grow room. Ill but em both in there. Was always scared about doing that because during my last grow, i managed to burn all the leaves on the tops of my plants.

I just ran to my local growshop and got a new fan. Is one 6" fan going to cool the lights enough that it doesnt burn the tops of my plants? I keep the humidity at 50% during the bud cycle. Thanks for any information you can give me, very much appretiated.

Ive been doing outdoors for years, and have always been very succesful. I have three indoor grows under my belt. Im picking up info little by little, but theres alot to learn. Got a good chunka cake into it now, so theres def. no turning back. I'm determined to have all the bugs worked out by the next cycle.

I'm amazed anything grows with that little light. Get at least three more 600W bulbs to grow in that space. Preferable four or five more.

actually a 600 will cover 4ft x 4ft area, so ya would need 3 more 600's to cover 10 x 10.

the 600 isn't big enough for that really, but the plants that ARE in the good light should still kick ass.

nevermind I didnt read it closely hahaha
I was saying it was probably a sativa, but youre saying after harvest....
Try growing some OG !

How about 2 600HPS lights in a 5X7 room, would it be better to grow a bunch of smaller plants, or fewer larger plants?

ya i run 2 1000s in a 8x10.. with 4foot flourecents on the walls for some side lighting.. and so far.. they look good havent had a problem like that.. i used to have that problem. but it was because i was harvesting tooo EARLY.. like do not count the first 7 days of 12/12 .. that would be the transition period.. and i bet u have better results!!

Small airy buds = Not enough light. 3x3 space is optimal for a 600 watt light, for example I have two 3'x6' flood tray and four 600 watt lights, I get awesome results with that setup. So either get more lights or only grow enough plants to fit in a 3x3 space.
On burning your plants, make sure the lights are at least 18"-24" away, I've burned plants at 12" away with an air cooled 1k watt on a light mover.
