Small Grow room

Well my turn to grow diary but before I start check this out?
Pic Week 9
Right now you looked listen to the story, I live in England and November is a very cold month here in the summer of 2009 my mate brought all the gear to start growing weed not large amounts just enough to support his habit (PLEASURE). He failed and the attempts were left in pots buy his caravan all summer the pots lay empty then one day in November Lee noticed a plant reaching round the caravan to gaze up on the winter morning sunshine frost on ground buy now. So he brought his gear to me and donated his plant.
I myself was going to start growing low-rider haze in a small loft space See Loft pic 1, loft pic 2 only 1.5 meters at its highest point but enough to grow personal weed to a good quality (I named the plant Bush) after the USA President as obviously the plant is hard as fuck and one day will fuck you up so a fitting name for a little fighter.
So to all the people who were told minus degrees would kill your plants note not all some breeds are fighters. The only thing I will say is the bud growth is out of control its even growing buds on the main sun leaf stems which never normally get buds.
Bush Is now in 12/12 cycle and loving it, I Just fitted another air intake fan a cool master case fan large cut up a 12v adapter and wired it up check fan pic 1, fan pic 2, fan pic 3, fan pic 4, fan pic 5 Already have an extractor wired up expic1 leads straight out to my roof via some ducting.
Seeds got 20 germinating seed pic 1, seed pic 2, 40 hours now checked moister still damp will check for tooth root tomorrow let you know how it goes I planted 10 in small containers high quality grow soil and watered well 10 on the saucer 5 with tissue paper 5 with paper towel .
Enough for tonight as I got to pull bush out lock him in the bathroom were its dark. As its too cold in loft space at the moment tomorrow I get a 600watt sodium grow light and will install I will update m blog with pics same time tomorrow.
My point being is you don’t need loads of fancy lights just 3 well-chosen should do you. 20 low rider every 8 weeks with an average yield of 25oz. and you can mix and match your flavours remembering this grow is for people with limited space, and bearing in mind I have never grown anything in my life so it’s a first for me bush has had tap water no nutriment’s. But even ph. water levels and all the nutriments will be administered at the right time.

I checked my 44 hour seeds in the pots no movement yet.

Allso the Weed prices in England are silly 1gram is 10gbp and no one sells quaters and as i smoke half oz a week it is damb near cleaning me out each week i worked out 7 grand i spent on weed last year another reason to grow your own you dont need to sell the stuff to make money i save 7 grand a year( if it all goes well)

Were do you contact site admin about poor html coding when browser width changes your java script boxes appear over each other at the bottom of the page can not read any text.

you need to have layers in place and put your java into the layers this way when browser is resized in sync instead of on top of each other

reason why i am moaning is cracked laptop screen have to have min width browser but site is fantastic great work

I checked seeds this morning no movement yet
i have moved them to warmer locations as its cold in my house at night as heating is of and snow every were so hoping this will sort it.

Got my 450w orange bud light now set up and on bush loved it today like the med in there dont want to leave if you know whs i mean check picks

check the ne light pics back on later with weird leaves and some answers i hope

I do have a Question? Why are the leaves on this plant growing separately to form the 5 point cannabis leaf check Bush’s weird leaf setup, normal cannabis leaf setup strange!.
Can anyone identify this plant?

Seed Check
5 On tissue paper have split one with tiny root showing, I shell wait until it is quarter of an inch long then plant it in growing soil rot down. All seedlings will sit in a warm room near a window until they develop their third set of growing leafs. Then growth cycle 18/6 for 4 to 5 weeks.
Paper towel seeds watered again and moved to same location as tissue seeds check again in two days.
Pot Seeds Soil is moist warm added tiny amount of rom temp water this morning check again in two days no movement at the moment always new this method would take longer.
Added 450 Watt budding light to far corner made a little platform for it to sit on get round to finish foiling it tomorrow now the plant spent the day with both lights today it loved it bottom growth leafs turned their faces so they were head on with the light in so much growth. Check the Pics of room and plant.

Checked Saucer seeds 3 of the 5 seeds needed potting the other two have cracked little tiny roots showing so will wait until they are like the others.

I put the freshly potted seeds on the tray with the ones i planted in soil. 3 to 5 days and should see first leaves.

I will post pics with tonights post

As this is a limited space and cash project i used reclaimed light fixings from a job cost £00.00, The bulbs on the otherhand cost £80.00.

Soil is from grow bags which can be found at aldi for £00.99.

The potting containers are reclaimed coke bottles cut them in half add holes job done cost £00.00

Trays to sit them in £00.99 from willkinsons holds 10.

Seeds were free too as i buy a lot of weed i go to different people this guys crop had one plant out of 100,s with seeds and i got 20 the weed is bad boy smells a bit like cheese but looks like northerlights very nice smoke if done right.

and as now days you can buy energy saving growth bulbs get one worth the extra 5gbp

Also added thermometer not Good 48f, though plant is not moaning i want best growing environment possible for the 20 seeds,

Solution: Add a 40 watt lightbulb keep upping the wattage until temp is 75 to 80f

Still when the lights are off need to keep temp 40f so behind the silver sheet were my are intake is drawn i have made a silver foil box attached the light 60watt inside and put ducting from a hole to the fan on the intake this created a heater and now the intake fan draws the heat into the grow room at night i need to mess around with bulb sizes to get temp right but yet another cheap method of temp control

Shell set this up tonight in the grow room and behind also adding another fan for air intake then i can use the plug to turn off in the morning when lights go on.

will try to complete tonight but will show progress on photos as for the little fighter she is amazing doubbled insize of buds since adding bud light check pics tonight i will add 6 days of pics 3 without light and 3 with so you can see the difference even i am shocked (well it is my first time)

well as i had a spare camera i set it up to catch flowering 1 frame every min for 12 hours thats 12 seconds of footage so i will do it for 6 days to make it just over a minute .

Checked seeds 2 of the ones I planted last night are half inch tall (Well Chuffed). So i moved them to a room that gets sun but put them away from direct sunlight until they get there third set of leafs.
I checked and cannot find any information regarding seeds I thought there would be some kind of mass database were a photo of a seed is shown and name of weed given. Is this possible as I have 3 different strains of Skunk growing and all the seeds are different one lot turned the tissue blood red before rooting. If this database is not up and running anywhere then us as a community should try making our own take pics of seeds, plants before bud cycle, and on bud cycle and finished bud. Then anyone that gets seeds and want to check they can look down the pics of the seeds until they find there’s and then see what it should look like and what type of weed it is.
I do web coding so building the sql database and the html script for project is not going to take long and it can be soul property of this forum Web admin needs to ok it then we need to start taking pics this time next year we could have quite a few on it

Seed 1 and 2 108 hours half inch above soil 2 hours after putting them in sunny rom 1st set of growth leafs are visible check photo below. After checking the 3 hours of time laps video last night I was amazed by the growth of the bud so I set it up today for the 12 hour daylight cycle and will post video tonight around 22:00h GMT. I have also decided to time laps video the hole cycle from the minute they enter the grow room. I am Looking at about 10 days before they are all ready to go into the vegetation cycle in my grow room of on 18 hours off 6 hours.
Checked the seeds in the pots 2 have just started to show can see seed cap in one pot and shoot bending through on the other check photos.
I popped round the sister-in-laws to discover in the summer her fella had brought 5 white widow seeds and grew to a nice size started budding then came the winter with no sunlight they just stopped budding so he put it out side were it has sat in -10 conditions for 10 days now I have it lol well I am going to regenerate this white widow female to a mother plant then I will make clones for the summer check the photos out pic one was just brought in from outside pic two has been in grow room for 5 hours check the difference I will cut the top and trim the dead leafs tonight and then keep it on 24/0 for a week then down to 18/6 until its strong enough for cuttings to be taken.
Well if that was not a bonus getting the 21 seeds to day was so I have started saucer tissue germination as that’s yielded the best results so far.
So let’s recap 6 days ago I started planting and germinating seeds, 45 seeds on the go out of this I expect 20 to germinate and 10 of them will be female.
Also I put the 60 watt bulb Bayonet type the temperature is 52f a rise of 10f for the same time last night so I guess 100 will make it 60f plus at night and 70 plus during the day which will do until summer as its only 14 weeks away starts warming up in about 4 weeks so will have the other problem of overheating but will cross that bridge when I come to it.
Well that’s it for tonight back tomorrow with the footage I need to sort out I recorded it at 1 frame per second playback should have been 60 will sort it tomorrow

In dark room done with blue LED light. Checked the seed this morning, no movement, today is the 8th day for 6 of them added a bit of room temp water and put back in the room warm 30c. The white widow plant I am trying to regenerate is still alive, two leaves half way up have stretch upwards and fanned out so with a bit of look might save this little beauty’s life. It was on its 1st of 7 24/0’s check the pics I trimmed all the dead leaves and branches last night seems to be holding on in there.
And as for bush well she stinks and that only happened this morning before today you could only smell weed if you were to rub a leaf. I opened the bathroom door this morning to put her back in the grow room and it stunk like skunk in fact I had a look round to see if I could find someone chugging but no it was only my little baby stinky little bitch well the crystals on the little leaves by the buds are visible now looking about 2oz when I finish not bad for free.

Checked my planted seeds again another one is poking through the soil just goes to show only checked them 4 hours ago and there she is that’s 5 now. I plant the seeds right in the centre of the pot and I was amazed to see where it had popped up not one is in the centre of the pot they must have a mind of their own.
Friday 8th January 2010 1430h GMT
Just been in my grow room my eyes cannot handle the light have to get some sun glasses. Well it stinks up there still -10c outside and can just about keep temperature at 50f my plant loves it though but cannot help wonder if there was more heat there would be more progress. Not that I am bothered about this plant like I said donated seedling fed with tap water no nutriments. When the 10 seedlings go in though want it perfect so I have two weeks to sort my temperature out for as little cost as possible.
As for the white widow female I am trying to regenerate I see new leaf growth check the pics I should imagine this plant will survive its cold snowy ordeal. At 16:30h GMT when it’s had its 1st 24/0 I will trim the remainder of the dead leaves so it’s not draining the plants last bit of life and water it, Fingers crossed.
Well I took a lamp then made to wire semi circles covered them with tin foil made a hinge put the lamp bulb through one end and holes in the other the temperature just rose to 72f so have my answer cost nothing was given lamp and already had 100 watt bulb. I will monitor the heat as I don’t want fires.
Just checked the seedlings and 4 of them are well over there containers all have 1st set of growth leafs just need 15 more now so I can start vegetation cycle.
Well one of my mates popped round he grows himself (not in the winter says it takes too long). He noticed a draft witch I will block up after bush goes into night cycle. The White Widow female is clinging on for life fingers crossed. The Temperature has dropped to 62f but have a solution I will tell you more about if it works.
Wow my cousin popped round guess what he had no weed again I said my crop will be ready before you get anymore weed for sale. He said And How Long do you think that last me I laughed to myself as he walked out the door as it’s his weed sales that drop off come June know more 160 pound for shite weed. From now on grow my own my own demand and supply.
I checked the new 21 seeds I planted at 2300h GMT and one had quarter inch root so I planted it at 00:00h GMT well that could be 6 of the 20 I need fingers crossed tomorrow brings 6 or 7 more.

If all goes well I should be ready to crop late May.
As for Bush she is doing well buds are thinking so much every 24hours I see a big changes around two to three weeks left then time to crop. It snowed again last night and temperatures plummeted to -12 horrible weather if you are a cannabis plant yet my kids love it how they can play in the snow for so long is beyond me 5 minutes and I have had enough.
As for the white widow female it’s not looking good I chopped the stem above the lower green leaves as from there up was dead now just going to leave it and hope.

White Widow Female Died no worry’s though nothing ventured nothing gained. So ripped up and stored with the rest of the plant matter I have in the freezer ready for the summers hash session. Checked my seeds, 9 more germinated so I put them in pots left in warm room so that could be 18 seedlings only need two more to germinate then I have good chance of 10 female plants and a happy crop. I filled the holes in grow room and insulated the roof temperature rose to 74f toasty and nice the plant loves it never mind the plant I love it found myself in tee-shirt sunning myself . Also the type of weed being grown has been identified as bubble-gum so I am of to research the temperature, watering, growth time, bud yield, and I will be back with results later.

Weed crisis in England no one and I mean no one has any 2 days to get a 1 gram 10 GBP ridicules piss take. Well enough of the moaning on onto the journal, bush my loan unidentified female is doing very well THC crystals forming all over the place buds looking fatter now I wonder how long before I can hang the little baby up to dry?.
I made a grow tank out of an old computer case got 12 seedlings 3 inches from light on 24/0 for what’s left of a two week cycle 8 days on 24/0 then I stick them in my grow room on 18/6. The computer case temperature is 82f in my living room but that will drop to about 66f in my grow room at night, by moving the foil of the fan area of the case kept the plants at 76f in my living room. It’s only a 125w all spectrum grow light so when the 20 seedlings finished with it I will add to my grow room for extra light. This light was donated to the grow room by my mate Steve nice one mate will sort you some nice bud when I have finished this crop. I added pictures of my grow case in various stages and bushes latest growth spout also some of the seedlings. Also today got some nutriments for this crop and guess what that’s right it was free cheer Sis tomato plant food but according to forums works very well when used wright. Another bonus I got was the top of the computer case gets hot as its steel so I sat the plastic container with the seedlings in(that have not come through) and its warmed the soil temperature up not that much they are cooking but enough to cause condensation on the inside of the seedlings clear plastic pot. As my grow room falls to 0c at night I put a paper on top as insulation tonight being 1st time I will monitor every 2 hours through the night don’t want to kill them I might be wrong?.

Well left the grow case in the 0c loft space case stayed at 70f all night the plants loved it. All the seeds popped through that were on top of the case and they are now on 24/0 too. I am keep the case with 10 in at night and on top of my case I will place the other 10 under the CFL now the heat from my case top should warm the clay balls enough to keep the soil at a stable temperature, I have soil temperature gauge so I will monitor that tonight and the lights should keep the surface temperature 72f. Fingers crossed! When I checked the ambient temperature of the grow room it had rose to 80f because of the extra heat from the case, So I turned the fan back on and temperature dropped back down to 72f (Nice). I Also got a PH testing kit which I so desperately needed the only thing is I did not get the acid and alkaline solution to correct the PH. I will search Google for some natural ones. I will test the PH of the boiled tap water, Tap water on its own and boiled with the nutriments in. As for my lone plant she is doing well. More and more bud depth and crystals every time I see her which is about 10 times a day. (She loves my carbon dioxide I exhale) Thus the tail of talking to your plants helps them grow as they feed of your carbon dioxide when you talk on them.
Well I put my lone female in the dark after a nice day of growth but I do hate not knowing what strain she is may be someone will be able to identify it from my pictures. The seedlings on top of the case with their heat matt and lights so close are 76f (top of computer case heats up). As for the case seedlings they are 30 hours into 24/0 and its 72f inside the case. So now I have my 20 seedlings from my 41 seeds, now fingers crossed time I get 10 female as I can grow no more than 10. 5 weeks from now I will 12/12 and weed out the males. Every think seems to be going well considering the weather here in England, remember it is -10 outside. I tested my water PH that is and found it was to high but when I tested the water with the plant feed it came back perfect 6.5 I think that’s right. Another 7 days and I will replant them in their grow bags.

For some strange reason had two seeds pop up in the same pot only thing is I only planted one the soil is new??? One thing I have to say is when I started my first grow I read lots of peoples grow diary’s now I think how stupid the guys blog I followed said leave my seedlings out of direct sunlight for two weeks. All this achieves is long stems that cannot support their own heads. Now the other 16 seedlings I put straight on 24/0 they are now staying 3 inch tall with fatter stems and all the second sets of leaves are done and on their 3rd set within 52 hours.

Woke up this morning to minus temperatures and snow every were you look. England is at a standstill once again and some twat (The missis) must have turned the thermostat down to 0 and it was about that when I woke up at 05:45h GMT. My plant was not effected it looked more healthy if any think. She is back in the med enjoying the sunshine now. All seedlings are doing well and find myself giving them water every 6 hours as they need it my lone female is drinking 1L every 24h. I just got my grow soil and planters I filled two of the planters (4 Plants). In the Bottom I put one inch of clay balls for drainage then filled it up leaving two inches from the top. I left in grow room for 5 hours to warm up then transplanted 8 seedlings into their final home. Remember only half will be female so there will only be two in a pot buy the end. The weed Strain Is Alnino but can find no reference to it on the web maybe he spelt it wrong. After transplanting I watered the container about a quarter of a litre in each grow box I just checked on them and they are doing amazing all happy looking. I also have been given another light. So I have a sodium 650 bud, sodium 650 veg, CFL 250 Veg, CFL 125 Bud. Did I mention they were all free? The bonus for me is my mate is an electrician in one of England’s greatest football clubs and can get me an endless supply of sodium bulbs and at 25quid each is a bonus. I must confess I spent my first bit of money today on the grow soil 3.20 GBP the entire cost of grow so far. I will give all 20 seedlings one more week of 24/0 before I start 18/6 for 4 weeks, so in 5 weeks I should be ready to play guess the sex 12/12 two weeks later weed out the males (keeping their bits in a bag in the freezer for making hash in the summer). Fingers crossed I should get 10. One of which will be kept at a mates house as a mother for cloning the next crop. I still feed the seedlings every 6 hours setting my alarm to get up at 6 and staying up until last feed at 12 they seem to love the routine. This grow is on a budget and in a confined space may be it will inspire people who thought they didn’t have the space to have a go. May be they will never spend money on bud again.

Got to start with my lone female Bush, she is out of control buds appearing all over the place, the crystals, all over the leafs are amazing. When I started the diary I thought i would just grow it at the time we thought what a little fighter hell we did not even know the sex. Even After the discovery that she was indeed female I still thought this will be hey-hash. How wrong I was, it stinks, it’s sticky and I have smoked it before nice bud just can’t remember the name of the strain. Well she is in her dark cycle now enjoying the break from the 650 sodium bud bulb. Every night the same time she drinks 1 litre of water mixed with nutriments.
On to the other 10 seedlings well they got their permanent home tonight now all 22 are sat in the grow room with 24/0 watering 100cl every 6 hours all are very happy i turn of extraction at night when i go to bed as it takes the temperature down to 65f, with it of it stays at 76f a slight drop from daylight but not much. All the seedlings are doing fantastic got the lights in the grow room up and lowered. At this point in time there is not much left to do apart from water so there will be fewer updates to this blog for 4 weeks until I change to bud cycle. Obviously i will give weekly updates of the lone female as she should be ready about the same timeJ.
